Well, I've voted early, but I seem to be having problems with part 2 of your advice. For some reason they don't think I deserve to vote fifty-seven times a day...crazy world, eh?

I'm voting tomorrow, but not for anyone-against someone. Here's a clue: it's not Kerry and it's not Bush (Holt Fasner does come to mind tho... )

You're also going to write in a vote for Dahler Mendhi?

I will be very curious to see how smoothly the Florida vote goes this time around, after the "hanging chads" controversy of 2000.

While everone has a right to vote or not, IMHO if you don't participate you lose the moral right to complain (I know-free speech - I said moral right!)

With all the places around the world where people risk death to exercise their right to vote, it is sad that so many Americans opt out.

Like Foul; I don't believe that there is a "good" candidate to vote for.
It seems to be nowadays that people don't vote for the better person,
but the lesser of two evils.
Also, why is the general public in America kept in the dark about
any other candidates. All that is "pushed" onto the public is just
the two main parties - Democrate or Republican.
What about the others???
(Did you know that in a recent election there were 8 people
running for president then? The media only followed the two
main parties and (almost) completely forgot the other parties!)

I would be more likely to vote if the media or whoever would show
more of the other candidates and viewed their opinions and plans
as well as the next guy.

You know, in all of the hoopla about presidential races, people sometimes lose sight that the local races -- which will probably actually have more of an impact on their daily lives -- will also be taking place.

Here we will also vote on some tax issues, local school issues, whether or not our state constitution will be amended to ban gay marriages, a gambling issue, and various local offices like sherifffs and judges.

Even if you don't like either presidential candidate, you can still take the opportunity to vote on whether or not your taxes will be increased.

<--- Currently not being taxed, and probably won't be for next four years. Well, unless you count the tax on the CDs I plan on buying.

Current view among commentators is that Bin Laden's video may have shot Kerry's chances for presidency. I find it ironic, considering it was released to damage Bush's rep. The thing is, Bush leads the polls on terrorism. This video has made many people concerned and will vote on the terrorism issue and not on taxes. Poor Kerry, I really admire him.

It's funny and sad, Lord Foul, that an outsider like me seems to feel more concern over the U.S. election than you, an American citizen. I don't speak for the other Canucks at the Watch, but for myself, I'm always interested in the outcome of an American election, since U.S. policy can't help but directly affect Canada. Not meant as a criticism of you, Lord Foul (I'll leave that to your compatriots ), just an ironic observation. (Oh wait, I forgot: Canadians don't understand irony. Never mind.)
