A few poems

I had these up on another site, and I thought I'd transfer 'em before the board got wiped.
Her silken angel wings brush my face
Dusting my cheek with memories
A powder so fine it seeps into my skin
Then spreads through the blood
A welcome tocsin
Much like quicksilver
It all ends up deposited in my brain
Slowly changing it
Such closeness lasts seconds
Then she's gone again
Leaving me irridescent tears
Glistening not with any light of mine
My heart is too heavy to shine
Hoarding its luminescence
They glisten because of her
My tears picked up her truth and beauty
As they passed across my plane
Cutting a path across the memories
A wall of windows
Each a view into a cell
A few monks
A few more criminals
But this is neither monastery nor prison
It is a barracks
And military men move within
My window is there as well
Darkened in my absence
Others still are lighted
But blocked to me
Curtains drawn
Barriers up
Yet I can see into the homes of some
In the moments that I have
I see what they do
It's not so different from me
It's not so distant from me
Uncaring
Demons watch us
Staring
Miles above the earth
Rushing
Madly at amazing speeds
Thinking
About 80,000 meters a second
Stalling
Somehow they manage not to move
Unfurling
Sleek black wings to the sun
Crooning
Invisibly to their masters
Answering
To digital pentagrams
Her silken angel wings brush my face
Dusting my cheek with memories
A powder so fine it seeps into my skin
Then spreads through the blood
A welcome tocsin
Much like quicksilver
It all ends up deposited in my brain
Slowly changing it
