I suppose I should have posted here first,

finding this site was a nice surprise along with the discovery of SRD's official site and the good news about his continuation of the Chronicles blew me away.

so... I guess I should say a bit about myself here.

I'm a Tattoo artist by trade (pause for preconceptions here), have been involved in different types of art and music for some time now and have led what some people have called an "interesting" life, though I think we all do in our own ways.
anyhow, I first read 'Lord Foul's Bane' about 16 years ago at the age of 21 on the suggestion of an old man in a dirty ochre robe ...... ok, ok no old man or ochre robe, it was a stranger on a patio. by some chance of good luck, I actually remembered enough of our conversation the next day ..or week and sought out a copy of book 1 which I found in a used book shop ( I don't think I had read a book since I'd left school in grade 9). now, without getting into a mini autobiograhpy here I'll just say that my life at the time "lacked structure" and as I've seen so many others say in these forums and in the GI, the Chronicles had a very positive impact on me in many ways, they also sparked an interest in me to read more, which I have aplenty and which in turn led to a desire to learn (on my own terms). I read them again about 2 years ago, followed by 'The Gap' series and 'Reave the Just' then 'The Man Who Fought Alone', which lead to me looking for the rest of the mystery series, I'm right in the middle of The Man Who Killed His Brother. I've purposly put off reading some of SRD's other works, 'Mordant's Need' etc because I like having something to look forward to. this didn't apply to 'Runes of The Earth' though..I think I spent every spare moment that I had reading it as soon as I took it out of the bag.

so here I am, Mr Donaldson is by far my favorite author and I really like the forums so far. I'll probably check in here often.
