If he is alive...

Can Linden and Thomas simply get back together again? I know they love each other and all that... but there are going to be a lot of difficulties... And maybe it will be unresolved... for a time at least...
I really don't picture SRD writing that they throw each other in the others arms and make love the first chapter... I think it'll take time for them to get back together... SRD was never one to make things simple.

Well, we are assuming it's actually Covenant in the flesh. They were never really "together," but I know what you mean...IMO it is indeed Thomas but he is not alive per se. So I'm not sure if he has a future with Linden the way you are describing.

In TCs brief contact with Linden through Anele, all the love was there, but a simple re-union, I think probably not. The opportunity to suspend the audience with some form of love/sexual tension is, I suspect too tempting for any author not to exploit.
How that is done we'll have to wait a couple of years to find out but oh, the possibilities. Perhaps the inability to be able to touch, maybe TC lacks substance, perhaps he becomes as Jeremiah, or "possesses" Jeremiah's flesh who still withdrawn, abides within TCs; he could want her immediately but gets miffed over her concern for Jeremiah, they did like to get miffed with each other........... loads of possibilities.
I'd like to see the moment (but I think it unlikely SRD would be so twee), when Linden greets TC only to be told "Don't touch me".
I think we'll maybe see their re-union in some form as the prize for finding redemption from some aspect of their pasts or from deeds they may have to commit; however the form of their union may be a price to be paid for redemption.

I dont think it's really him, or if it is he will be constrained by some Law or another....
"It's not that easy."

I hope that they do. They both miss each other terribly. TC even more since all those millenia have passed for him and Linden it's only been 10 years.
One thing I really liked about the Second Cronicles was that when finally TC and Linden "did the deed" they continued to do it as often as possible that even had the Giants grinning. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I've started a relationship with a woman the first few weeks that was what pretty much what we did with our free time. Image, though, the restorative powers of Diamondrought!

I agree - I think it will be "unresolved for a while"!
[And YAY - DARTH is back!!]

I'm wondering if his first line to Linden in Revenant will be, "What the hell are you doing here?", heh.
Perhaps...

Maybe he is from the past-- far enough back -- that he hasn't met her yet??

I wonder if Jerry Springer was transported to the Land...

Was I gone?
Oh, I was... hmmm...
Yeah, I agree, they won't just get back together...

definitly, she'll just gape at him for a while. Being stunned... and then ask questions by the million.

It is likely that Linden will have to update Covenant on events that have occured in their home world.
Linden telling Covenant about the actions of Roger, and indeed the fate of Joan, will very likely re-direct any re-surfacing sex drive into endeavours by Covenant to rescue Joan, and engage with and confront Roger.
I feel the Roger issue is bound to split Linden and Covenant - they are likely to be pulling in two different ways on that one.

yes, definitly. She'll argue that he has to be stoppe. And Thomas, as the father, will find that very hard.
