I just recieved my copy of the Atlas of the Land by Karen Wynn Fonstad. It is fabulous. I will definately have it handy the next time I start the Chronicles again. I have read the series about every 18 or so months for about 12 years.
This book is an awesome companion. If you do not own it, get it.

Never heard of this book. Is it accurate to the books?

yes Tom the book is accurate and shows much more details of other things besides the landscape of the Land. You can pick up a copy of the Atlas on Ebay for a decent price.

Hail Tom, I scanned a few pics of some illustrations of Starfare's Gem and put them in the album some time ago. Always meant to scan more, but never seemed to get around to it...

These should give you an idea of what's in the book. It's fantastic!! There are maps and diagrams of everything.

There are also about 4 other topics on Atlas-a new one appears about every 4 to 5 months.

Thank you for the pics! Very nicely done.
Well, I've got my eyes open now for the atlas. Doubtless I will be reading the entire TC series again soon, so with the atlas by my side I look forward to the additional immersion into the adventure.

Nice scans!
In TWL, Covenant is running across the land and naming areas "Andelainscion", "Bandsoil Bounds", "Victuallyin Tayne", "Boulder Fash", etc.. that were ever mentioned before that I could find.
Is the Atlas where SRD added names for areas that were not in the first Chronicles?

I bought my copy of Atlas on eBay about a year ago, and I've never looked back. It's a must-have for all TC fans.
MrK, I could be wrong, but my impression was that the names of regions that Covenant traveled through in the "Blood Speed" chapter came from the knowledge of the Waynhim, which he shared during that time period. You are correct when you say that those names are not found anywhere else in the Chronicles.

I just got mine also from Ebay. It was a library book (HB) that looked like it was never used. (Had a clean library card and everything! I have it right by my side!
