Anybody else use this server? I downloaded it for my new laptop after having to wipe it because a virus hit it and fried the wireless card. It's supposed to help a lot with Spyware and I like it better than IE. Recommended.

I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. I use it and Safari exclusively now.

Been using it since version 0.8.7. Definately better than IE.

I'm not ready to say that Mozilla is "definitely better" than Internet Explorer. Depends on the website. As I said in another thread, I notice there are some anomalies (albeit minor ones most of the time) when I'm using Mozilla at KW. Whatever. What is definitely better about Mozilla is the tabbed browsing feature. It would be nice if IE would incorporate such a feature (and I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to do so, being the competitive bastards that they are, heh).

Microsoft is currently working on IE7, and it's been revealed that one of the feature will indeed be tabbed browsing.
There are a couple of things not so good about Firefox, I've found - for one, I can't sign in to the secure pages at Amazon - I have to use IE whenever I want to use my account. Also, the shadow and glow you can get for usernames on KW is designed for IE, so I can't see them on Firefox, heh. Apart from that, most things on the browser seem easier to use.

I use MIE2 aka Maxthon (newly updated) and have never looked back. Tabbed web browsing, uses about 5% of the memory IE uses and gives me no hassles whatsoever!!! None, nada nothing, its seriously a gem!

Tabbed browsing is sweet.

Woo - the Firefox update started working recently, and I got v1.0.3 - and they've fixed it! I can now log in to Amazon and GMail, two of the many secure sites that failed to load in Firefox previously.

I've finally gotten around to making the switch back to Firefox after my last HD failure. One thing I would suggest is to get firefox before IE has been completely buggered up by trojans, as some sites still don't work properly.
I currently have my gmail notifier linked to IE, as I still have to log in if it uses Firefox.

I've been using it for months, since right before they changed the name from Firebird to Firefox. Love the tabbed browsing, built-in pop-up blocking, themes, extensions, etc. To say nothing of the fact that spyware is almost non-existent on my computer.
Admittedly, Firefox is a little quirky about rendering some web pages but it's not a major problem.
I still use IE for logging into my work email from home, but that's about it.

I use firefox over IE. I've never looked back since downloading (except to remind myself how crap IE was).

i am aware that mozilla is much "cooler" to use, and i do have it, yet im not going to say that its better than ie because i have to redownload flash plugins, and many images dont display correctly

No matter how cool it is, mozilla is still inferior to MyIE2/Maxthon... which has all of the advantages of both IE and mozilla, plus some, and none of the drawbacks of either.

The problem I've been having, if I try to use Firefox at the Watch, is that when I log on it reads the last time I visited as the current time, even if it was 12 hours before.
Since I review posts here from the "posts since last visit" tab, it's quite inconvienent if that memory is lost.

I'd never heard of this til I finally got around to reading this thread. Should I give this a try?

Here's an idea... use the vastly superior Maxthon.

Go ahead, dlb. It's a big step up from IE. Of course, considering IE hasn't had a major update since 2001, that's not saying much.
And yes, it's not the only good browser out there - Opera (which is not entirely free...) and Maxthon (which I know nothing about) are also supposed to be good, and I'm sure there are others.
I've found myself another useful extension recently - a GMail notifier which keeps track of my emails, and lets me go directly to the inbox - very convenient, because I always forget to check my GMail account (since it's only used for a couple of small things and doesn't get much mail).

I'm trying out Mozilla's Camino, a browser for Mac.
It seems to do the normal browsing around allright, but since it's a beta I'm not going to use it for anything important.

I use the Avant Browser,it is really just an add-on using the IE engine. It gives you tabbed browsing among lots of other cool stuff. It is free-and as far as I can tell it had no adware or spyware bundled with it.(edit)I just downloaded and installed Maxthon and it is almost identical to Avant.
