To Thine Heart Thy Blade

To Thine Heart Thy Blade
Like a fragile rose, she'll stick you with her thorn
As a wounded love, transfixed with scorn
She'll let you close, then back away
To start the chase on another day
Trapped in her spell, she calls you close
You must obey her silent ghost
She reminds you of days gone by,
When she was here, oh why'd she die?
Is she there, is she real?
Can she see, can't she feel?
Does she know what she's doing to me?
Her memory won't let me be
I sleep at night, but she's in my dreams
I wonder if she can hear my screams?
Calling her name in the silent night,
Hoping for answers, praying for light
She always calls, "Come, please join me.
We can be together, we can be free.
Eternal love you cannot evade,
forever ours, to thine heart thy blade."
Is she there, is she real?
Can she see, can't she feel?
Does she know what she's doing to me?
Her memory won't let me be
In a drunken gloom, I reason it through,
To live with her memory, I cannot do
To see, but not hold her on every night,
Her fragile ghost always in my sight
The alcohol in my blood has now taken it's toll,
My mind is listless, my actions bold
And even as I begin to fade,
I hear her call, "to thine heart thy blade."
Like a fragile rose, she'll stick you with her thorn
As a wounded love, transfixed with scorn
She'll let you close, then back away
To start the chase on another day
Trapped in her spell, she calls you close
You must obey her silent ghost
