Movies that put us to sleep

I've only fallen asleep in a theater on two occaisions:

1. The movie "Medicine Man" with Sean Connery.

2. The remake of "The Grinch" with Jim Carrey.

Both of these movies were so bad and so boring that I just couldn't remain conscious.

So, not counting DVDs or rentals at home, what movies put you to sleep?

OTHO I fell asleep during Hanover Street (Leslie Ann Downe & Harrison Ford) & Conan the Destroyer... :faint:

Napoleon Dynamite and Flesh and Bone. Both were absolutely mind-numbingly pointless and boring.

Driving Miss Daisy. Then again, I was like, 12 or something at the time, so it wasn't all that interesting. Could probably sit through it now.

I've never fallen asleep during a film - I need a lot of peace and quiet in order to fall asleep. But if were going to, it would probably while Lost In Translation is on.

Gods and Generals

And I love history and historical movies.

Takes me a long time to fall asleep even when I'm exhausted. I'd never fall asleep while a film was on, I don't think.

Ok, ok - yes, the dialogue was bad at times, and so were the fake beards - but how could you sleep through the Battles of Manasses, Fredricksburg and Chancellorsville?!

I think I was snoring before the battles came up.

LOL, like I said, I was 12, more or less. I really have nothing against it. I think I've seen parts of it since then, and it's kept my interest... but then again, that might have been that Quantum Leap episode that ran in the same vein... *shrug* Will give it a try one of these days.

  Kinda like sleeping through Pelennor Fields in ROTK... Wait, I've done that.

And it's Bull Run. Grrr. ;)

Solaris (the George Clooney one). I know it's supposed to be a sensitive study of how loss haunts us, or some such, but I when I got it out on DVD I found it paralysingly dull. I just kept thinking, "Bring on the aliens. Or the starships. Or the big black monolith. Or just nuke the planet from orbit - it's the only way to be sure."

Also, Random Hearts, which I've been rude about elsewhere.

I rented Solaris on DVD and stopped watching it after about 15 minutes.

I've done that so many times I can't keep count.

Solaris was the most boring film I've ever watched. If I hadn't left I might have fallen asleep.

Only film I've ever fallen asleep to is You've got mail

I remember back in High School, myself and two friends went to see the Mel Brooks movie "To Be or Not To Be". I woke up at one point and saw my friend Pat fast asleep but couldn't see my other friend Kris anywhere. When I looked a little harder, he had stretched out across three or four seats.

I've since seen the film and thoguht it wasn't so bad...but I guess at 17 it was!

I got suckered into "Solaris" because I saw that James Cameron was listed as a producer.

I don't think my wife's forgiven me for that on e either.

I have fallen asleep almost every time I watch 2001. I don't know why, but the pace of the film is a sedative to me. I really like the movie, too; it just lulls me to sleep.

I always skip the dumb chimp scene at the beginning.
