Life Aquatic pwns me.

My favorite moment: Bill Murray's killing spree whilst Iggy Pop's "Search and Destroy" plays.

Is this a real flick, or am I gonna have to bust KW's chops again about spamming?

Seriously, tell me something about the movie; make me want to go out and rent/buy it.

Sounds interesting... A quest to get revenge against a mythical shark?

We saw this this weekend, finally! It was great of course, but then I love all of Wes Aderson's films....Rushmore being my favorite. It wasn't as funny (to me) as the other two, but still great, nonetheless. :D

Yeah, it's a revenge story, but that's a plot device more than a theme, imo (I can't believe I'm analyzing this thing  ). The more substantial theme is father-son relationships. Mind you, this is a comedy: a big part of the concept is that the movie parodies ocean documentaries like Jacques Cousteau's... not malicious, but more reflective of that 60s-70s cheesy style we all remember from grade school biology. There's even a thank-you note to the Jacques Cousteau Society or whatever during the end credits.

Above all... it's FUNNY! Ridiculously funny. If you're not laughing at the intentional jokes, you're laughing at how BAD this thing is - the so-bad-it's-good cliche.

Yeah. It's hilarious. Plus, it has interns. Who have to share a glock. Poor interns.-jay

I agree it was a funny movie. My favorite thing about it was watching some very good actors strut their stuff in this very off-the-wall material. The animators invented some delightful undersea wildlife, too.
