What to name your baby nerd

If you can truly picture yourself yelling "Servalan!, Leela! Time for dinner!" or "Did you finish your homework yet, Garak?" then look no further! Many of these names are already catching on. For example, in 1998, there were 27 baby girls in the USA named Jadzia, and 80 baby Rykers.
Then again, I always liked the name "Jadzia..."

Silly people...Of course I would name my nerd baby Leonard, after Leonard Nimoy and his middle name would be Albert, after Albert Einstein.
Leonard Albert, my first son.
My daughter....I think I'd name her Majel, after Majel Barrett, Gene Roddenbury's wife. Her middle name--Nichelle after Nichelle Nichols.
Majel Nichelle. It has a lovely assonance, don't you think?
I can just see them standing there, my two nerd babies, with their thick lensed glasses--the bows broken off and repaired with duct tape--building little models of the Enterprise in the basement...raising gerbils to sell for better technological equipment, writing their Christmas list with lots and lots of requests for printer cartridges and star charts.
Sigh....

I have a baby due in a couple of weeks. I'm still upset that my wife won't let me name it Dargo if its a boy. I tried a bunch of others too, but no dice...Worf, Tiberius as a middle name, Adama, Saltheart, Bannor, etc. So then I tried for some others like Linden, Avery (even though I still don't like her), Lena, etc. She was on to me, asking which book they came from.
Like I said, I still have a few weeks to break her down. I still like Dargo...I'm glad she has veto power, since if it was up to me the kid would probably get beat up.
If anyone has any other suggestions that would fly, I'm open. I just have to have some non-nerd justification for the name (like Mhoram, the King of Denmark during the 14th century or something) so feel free to elaborate.

My oldest is my only baby nerd. Her name is Alexandra Andromeda. She is 9 and last year found my old Dr. Who videos and books (I am a former Whovian... still like it, but not obsessed anymore). I ended up giving her all my Dr. Who stuff (except my ex's dad never gave me back my TARDIS play set and Alex wants one now... last I checked they ran $100). Her dad gave her his 13 ft long scarf. She even took her set of Dr Who collector cards (I keep them for her so she won't lose them... the puppy is eating her Harry Potter cards... need I say more?) to school for show and tell and all the boys in class think she is the coolest girl. My other 2 kids I doubt will ever be nerds. Calli is more the athletic type that is into dinosaurs and other assorted reptiles... she also gets on better with boys. Her name is Callista Anastastia... AKA Callico Kitty. Then there is my all boy, I totally don't know where he gets it, manly man self Nicolas George Raven... AKA Nick "Da Man" and "Bubby" (when Calli was little she could not say Nicolas.. said Nickwicks... and couldn't say baby brother... bebe brudder... so we called him bubby cuz she could say it).
Something funny form yesterday.... We were airing up the tires and my friend filled a plastic grocery bag full of air (the machine said "Free Air) as a joke and handed me the bag. I oohed and ahhed and Calli got the joke and was pretending utmost excitement too saying, "Ooohhh... air... and it's free!" Alex didn't get it and was like, "What is the big deal with the air. All air is free." *sigh* How can a child of mine not get it?! lol

My wife and I agreed that if we had a daughter, we'd name her Tesseract, which could be shortened to a more normal Tess nickname. Unfortunately, we had a son, and my wife kept shooting down all the good names I came up with... Skullcrusher, Torque, Schrodinger, Pong. Eventually we gave up and called him Alex.

If you're in a mixed marriage (I am a pseudo-nerd; my wife is not, in fact, I'd call her an anti-nerdite), the trick is to come up with names that nerds will recognize but will have no nerdly meaning to non-nerds.
So for our son, we had three names picked out. My wife had no clue that each name had a deeper, hidden meaning to freaks and geeks everywhere.
The two we didn't use: Griffin and Logan.
The one we did: Lucas.

I plan to clone myself a billion times. Each clone of me will be named a number. Therefore the first clone will be named One.

MWAHAHA. I'm NOT the only one! I tried so hard to get my wife to agree to D'Argo. We compromised on Dante. Would've been D'Ante, but the doc couldn't understand my instructions. *shrug*
Hile was also on the table, but in the end, decided it sounded too much like "Heil!"
I think I have a thread or two on that around here from that time. Wonder if I could dig it up.
But yeah, the veto power is a good thing. If I had my first choice, he would've been Maolbheanachta (Mal-vuh-nock-tuh).
Hmmm. How about Crais? Talyn? Jothee (*urk* almost as bad as Roger). Dominar Rygel XIII? Nonono. Chrichton as a first name wouldn't be too bad.
Darian (5000 WGDs to whomever can name that tangent)?

One could make the argument that the first clone is actually the second you, and thus should be named Two.
However, I personally wouldnt allow my clones to argue with me.

Good point!

Always bear in mind... your offspring will one day merge with a social group. I'm beginning to think my kids names are pretty gosh darn normal!

Which is why I named my children Spock, Adolf, Storm, Benedict and Thor.
