Read it about a year ago - pretty good, although you can't really compare it with some of Williams' larger works. Fun and interesting - worth reading. Williams' has a very unique take on the fairy-folk.

I enjoyed that one quite a bit, might be my favorite Williams book, in fact. 8)

Fascinating take on fairy tales and legends. :) Power struggles and environmental issues with real world relevance. :)

I have always been a fan of Tad Williams, fromMemory, Sorrow & Thorn to Otherland his fantasy is always very large scale and the world's he creates are awe inspiring and very realistic.

War of Flowers was a veyr interesting take on the War of Roses, if you know your history there is quite a bit of comparison that you can make and relfect upon, his newest series is freaking AMAZING! Cheers.

My first, and so far only, Williams novel. I liked it. I think Williams starts very slowly, but if the reader has patience, he or she will be rewarded. I will probably read Shadowmarch when it is released in paperback.

Loved Memory, Sorrow and Thorn but couldn't get into War of the Flowers. I have to admit that what I did read was an interesting take on the legends about fairies, but it didn't grab me as much as I would have hoped.

I am looking forward to reading Shadowmarch, however.

I think I liked Otherland best out of all his work - very different from things like War of the Flowers, but it really is a fascinating concept, and although it's very long, he managed to keep it interesting all the way through.
Must say, I'm not so keen on Williams' liking for the 'happy ending'. He doesn't seem to like letting the good guys die (or even stay dead once they do).

I haven't read the Otherland books yet, but someone has passed the first two on to me, so will get to them eventually. :)

War of the Flowers did start out slowly. But it does gradually build in intensity, and I thought it was a rewarding read, when all is said and done.
Spoiler
The attack on the tower and the aftermath of its fall was especially well written, IMO.

I have always been a fan of Williams, and I thought War of Flowers was a prety damn solid effort from an author who is known more for his work on longer, multi-novel series. I like Williams because he tries new things, from his classic MsaT to Otherland, and War of Flowers he really switches it up, before going back soemwhat to his roots with Shadowmarch.

I liked it, but it was weak in places. I think the better option may be to wait until the other two books are out.
