Similarities: Darsint, Master Chief?

having just re-read the mordants need series, oft times between games of halo 2, i realized that darsint seems like a prime candidate for an inspiration of the masterchief. not only does his armor give him superhuman abilities, and his weapons shoot a form of plasma at enemies, but he also seems to have, to a point a similar personality
also, the physical description of his armor and face correspond with that in the halo books
did anyone else think of this, or have i just been playing too much halo?>

Darsint as the Master Chief from Halo? Cool idea! (Though admittedly I haven't played much of Halo. Haven't done any serious gaming for a while, but the itch is starting to come back.)
That's it: One of these days, SRD should write a novel starring Darsint set in the Halo universe!

Never seen Halo but my students love it. That's a "godrotting" cool idea! I've always wanted Darsint in his own book-similar(ish) thread about to be bumped!

That's funny. Never thought of it before, but my visual interpretation of Darsint is almost exactly how the Halo character later appears ...

yeah, it was for a moment, but then something interferred with it
anyway, just link to it and you can check it out, or just google search for master chief or halo

You're right, he does look like a good image of what Darsint might look like.

I imagined Darsibt's armour to be white, for no good reason I can think of, so MC's drab olive throws me off a little bit. Otherwise the look of the suit is very close to what I'd imagined. MC's also a bit more gruff than I thought Darsint would be.

I also imagined Darsint's armour to be a different color: a kind of metallic silver--sort of, but not quite, like the armour of King Arthur and his knights as depicted in John Boorman's movie Excalibur.

I used to think it was red-but I confused it with Angus' spacesuit over the years until I reread.

I seem to remember that Bright Beauty's suits were red, not sure about the one he'd have been given at UMCPHQ though.

so- red like the russian suits, or really red?

Oh hang on, I think I'm mixing up Angus' shipsuit and EVA suits. Bright Beauty's shipsuits (jumpsuit type things, presumably) were red, with Angus' one also being very dirty.
I don't remember what colour the EVA suits were, though Angus wears a few different ones. I'm thinking that Trumpet's suits wouldn't have been white though: too easy to pick out against a starfield/hull/the surface of Thantos Minor. I'd expect them to be matt black for that reason, though I've an inkling they were silver.

I've ALWAYS had the picture of Master cheif when I think of Darsint. Also, I have always envisioned his armour as a really deep silvery metallic blue.

Yeah, the picture's definitely right, but the characters are kinda different. Darsint's like a more eloquent, foul mouthed Master Chief. Chief's almost the Wild West man-of-few-words trope. In a spacesuit
