Most amusing part of the Chronicles?

I'd say for me the part in Lord Foul's Bane where Mhoram talks to Covenant about him being a seer or seeing parts of the future or some such (can't quite remember what--no book at hand), and then Covenant says "It must be fun." Just sounded like something one of my friends at school would reply to Mhoram with...

Oh--and when Covenant looks at Hile Troy from under that wily beard of his and tells Troy something like, if he fails they can "commiserate" together...

I'd say more, but...wanna give others a chance! TONs of stuff with Foamfollower...

Hehe. I know there are a ton of funny parts in the Chronicles. Maybe not directly funny, but I still find humor in them. Heh. Alyanna and I find a lot of stuff about the Chronicles funny. The thing I ususally found the most humorous was simply Covenant's reaction to many of the things in the Land. He's pretty weird sometimes. Like, take the Covenant/Bannor scenes for example. Covenant always manages to do something to get on Bannor's nerves. Oh, and the scenes with Pitchwife were always great.-jay

There's this scene in TPTP where Foamy and TC are trying to sneak up to Fouls Creche, only there's a big hairy guard on duty outside the entrance, with two heads and four arms or something, anyway while TC casually walks up to the guard, whistling and acting all nonchalant, to distract him, Foamy runs up and whollops him - makes me laugh every time.

Yes! Good one Prince. :D

Here's one of my favorites.
When Vain bowed to Starfare Gem's mast, then stood staring at it in The One Tree:
"Forsooth," responded Pitchwife with a light chuckle. "Had this Demondim-spawn not been gifted to the ur-Lord by a Giant, I would fear he means to ravish the maidenhood of our foremast."
At that, laughter spouted from the nearby crewmembers, then spread like a kinship of humor through the rigging as his jest was repeated to those who had not heard it.

Subbornly posting when I have nothing to say I will just say that I cannot really remember any really funny things in the chronicles.

Come to think of it there are few really funny bits in SRD's works. But there are a few more humorous moments in the short stories.
Unfortunately, amiable, forgiving usurers had so much kindness in their natures because they could afford it; and they could afford it because their investments were scantily at risk: they demanded collateral before hazarding coin. This baffled Jillet more than a little. The concept of collateral he could understand - just - but he could not understand why the widow Huchette did not constitute collateral. He would use the money to pay the alchemist; the alchemist would give him a love potion; the potion would pay the widow; and from the widows holdings the usurer would be paid. Where was the fallacy in this?

I like it when Covenant sees the Woodhelvnen girl who's playing tag and says 'Im safe I'm safe!', then Covenant nods and goes, "She's safe." Other then that, there were no real points were I actually laughed out loud..

I've always like the part where we find out Pitch's secret name for his wife , both a bit funny and very, very touching.

This moment gets my vote. I noted most of the humorous points in the Chrons but this is the only one that made me laugh out loud. The very idea! :D

I liked the story that Foamfollower told on their way to Soaring Woodhelven. About the war that was stopped because of diamondraught. Prothal said that he heard the tale, and it was the long-windedness of the Giants that stopped the war. By the time they were done talking, both sides forgot what they were fighting about. And Foamfollower said something like, "you misunderstand - it was the Giants who drank the diamondraught". :-)

:LOLS: Romeo and Lord Mhoram's are both riots!

I also like:
"I'm not used to such things. In my own world, I'm - I'm just a little man. Your homage makes me uneasy."

"Is it possible? Can such worlds be, where you are not among the great?"

"Take my word for it."
And this:
Then his smile returned. "But you, Thomas Covenant, Unbeliever and stranger in the Land - you burn yourself too freely. I laughed when I saw you because you seemed like a rooster threatening one of the Ranyhyn. You waste yourself, Thomas Covenant."

Covenant took a double grip on his anger, and said quietly, "Is that a fact? You judge too quickly, Giant."

Another fountain of laughter bubbled out of Foamfollower's chest. "Bravely said! Here is a new thing in the Land - a man accusing a Giant of haste. Well, you are right."

I don't have the quote ready to hand, but one of my favorites is in the second series, where the company are all in
Spoiler
unspoiled
Andelain. The First and Pitchwife disappear into a thicket and reappear hours later "with leaves in their hair and secrets in their eyes". We can all surmise what has been going on, but Linden can see its effects, and says, "If you don't cut that out, you're going to become parents whether you're ready or not!"

For some reason, when the teasing is going the other direction--Covenant and Linden emerging onto the deck of Starfare's Gem the midafternoon after, "Does everybody on this bloody rock know what we do with our privacy?"--seems more moving than funny, though a mixture of both. (A mix more characteristic of Spider Robinson than SRD.)

On a vastly different note, somewhere in LFB Covenant pokes his index finger into Bannor's chest and says "I don't trust you either." :P

There was also a line that brings a wry grin to my face whenever I read it ... I believe that it's in the second chronicles that Covenant describes his relationship with Bannor... "...Bannor used to make me want to scream..."

Pitchwife after fixing the roof of Foodfendhall (methinks) is showing off to Linden with his work and cries out " Behold I am Pitchwife the Valorous! Gaze upon me and suffer awe!" to which the First replies: "Forsooth! And if you don't climb down from yonder perch you shall be Pitchwife the fallen"

Just one of many wunnerful moments.

Abruptly, he dropped his gave. "If it is her wish, Hollian will abide here. The son she bears is ours together, but that choice must be hers." Then his eyes fixed Covenant squarely again. "I will not part from you until I am content."

For a moment, the Graveler and Covenant glared at each other; and Linden held her breath. But then Hollian broke the intensity. Leaning close to Sunder, grinning as if she meant to bite his ear, she breathed, "Son of Nassic, you have fallen far into folly if you credit that I will be divided from you in the name of simple safety."

Covenant threw up his hands. "Oh, hell," he muttered. "God preserve me from stubborn people." He sounded vexed; but his frown had lost its seriousness.

Linden gave a sigh of relief. She caught Hollian's glance, and a secret gleam passed between them.

I love Covenant's first words to Foul upon arriving in the Land for the Second Chronicles:

"I don't believe it!" Covenant panted hoarsely, "You can't be stupid enough to try this again!"

All of the above are quite funny...the Whole Short story; Ser Viscals Tale is quite humerous...espaesailly at the end, when he's stone sober and just walks away...
One line I always liked (although it's not Laugh out lound funny) is whne TC is berating Foamy and Mhoram after Soaring Wood..and Quann stpes behind him and whispers, "If you speak again, I will reak your arm"..It's like "Screw my Oath, this guys a jerk!"
