Well, I did it. I caved in. Thought I would be able to show more self-control, but in the end I couldn't. It's the first time I've read a Star Wars novel before the movie comes out.
And yes, there is a review, if you are interested!:D I've tried to include as little spoilers as I could, but in order to write an appropriate review, I had to include some. But have no fear, I don't give the big secrets away!
So you want to know if it's any good, eh!?!;) Well, I do think it is!!!
Can't wait to see the film now!

Have you read it, by any chance!?!
I know it's a bit early, since the book came out a few days ago. But I'd love to get other people's takes on the storyline.
Because of all the hype that surrounds the release of such a film, people react quite differently. So I'm eager to see if other readers enjoy or dislike the novel...

No I haven't. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the setting.

Actually, we have begun discussing it down in the Star Wars forum in the library.

Hop on down and join us.
You might especially enjoy the Palpatine thread.

I plan to read the novel, but I shelled out extra bucks for an autographed copy, as Matthew Stover is one of my favorite authors. I won't receive it until the end of April.

The book was amazing, truly amazing. I can't wait for the movie, though I've heard from many people that Lucas admitted that the story has changed quite a bit from that adaptation to what is on screen, so he said that we should still expect a few surprises.
Either way, Stover put up a good and fast page turning read, cheers.

The book was amazing, truly amazing. I can't wait for the movie,
FizbansTalking_Hat, I completely agree, and I generaly admittely think the
Starwars novels are something between rubbish and dire.
Stover has written the best
StarWars novel I have ever read. I liked
Zahn's work, but
Stover's talent far supercedes any others I have seen take part in the
StarWars mythos. I have not yet read the work by
Sean Stewart (who is also a fantastic, critically acclaimed, award winning author).
Anyone who ahs read
Stover's past work should have expected this to be great,
Blades of Tyshalle is awesome.
If the movie is half as as good as the book, it will certainly be infinitely better than either of the 2 prequels prior (which IMHO were horrible) and may challenge to be among the top 3 (which would make it a classic).
Terrific novel.

Stover is good, and I loved the book, it was written well and very engrossing but I think that Zahn has nailed down the Star Wars universe, the Thrawn Trilogy just blew me away, it would have been interesting to see his take on teh story with his style, but its all good, can't wait for the film, cheers.
