Inanimate Objects

...Okay, I'm stepping away, for a post, from the characters which move and act to the inanimate objects,,which have such presense in the TC chrons, that they may well be figurative representations.

...The first being Revelstone. Cutting rite to the chase, which is strange because Revelstone isn't going anywhere, it can't. Its rather, where characters go to. So, in the figurative landscape , Lord Foul is Despair, etc,,Revelstone appears to me as " The Mind". Perhaps thats to general. maybe " Id" or " ego" or etc , etc works for you better. I stop with, The Mind" because every interior description seems to illustrate a very " Escher" type place., very maze like. It is made of granite. The place of cold hard logic where one comes for protection mite be a way to see it. Perhaps, logic, by itself can work.

The wonderful fortress, built by the most comapssionate Giants even has special little sevants like the Mandoubt,,perhaps a tribute to " pyschic abilities". And, think of the sandgorgon busting in. Or, that the Masters had kept it dark and as evidenced by the dust and cobwebs, unused,,also seems pointing towards the brain metaphor. For fun look up Revel in the dictionary.. Definetly what the Giants had in mind.

...And if Revelstone is the mind what else could be the Heart other than Andelain? Remember , folks can and do " think and act" with either. While, we've seen TC's mind kinda broken into,,and the Sunbane corrupt the heart we know as Andelain,,i am not looking foward to haveing my heart entirely broken in the Last Chrons..but ummmmm.

...Now there is still Mount Thunder, The Sarangrave, etc. I'm sure there are some ideas for discussion. Heck, a couple of 'em have been reduced to rubble.....MEL

Typically, bodies of water represent the mind. For instance, Fall of the House of Usher for the subconscious mind and Heart of Darkness, IIRC (Conrad being a big influence on SRD, also IIRC), for the flow of consciousness. In that case, you have Glimmermere and the Soulsease to consider.
