Any tips on searching

I want to post a bunch of comments and questions but I can't believe they haven't been discussed to death already in the dissection forums.
I did a search for "blue Lords Fire" and I got hundreds of messages and none had anything close to the phrase "blue Lords Fire" in the thread.
Am I just being STUPUD?
Any search tips would be welcome.
TIA

Because it searched for threads which said 'blue' or 'lords' or 'fire'.
The search engine's capabilities are not the greatest.
You can click on "search for all terms" - then if there is a thread which says 'blue' says 'lord' and says 'fire' you'll be all set.
I don't think quoting, e.g. "blue lords fire" works.

Searching is horrible. As you say, I usually end up with loads of totally unrelated stuff as well as pages of things that are faintly relevant. No tips, sorry.

I suggest trying google. I tried that to find a topic in another forum that also has a lousy search engine, and it worked great.

Yeah, the only time searching is worthwhile is if you're looking for a rare word (for instance, when I was trying to find if bodach glas had ever been discussed), or if you know who said it and in which forum. Otherwise... well, you've seen the results. Be sure to sort by posts rather than thread, also.

... what would be wicked cool is if you could enter a date range.
