to hide or not to hide...

Okay, this has been happening to me for months now. When I log in I'm always hidden. So, when I notice it, I "unhide" myself in my profile. And that works for that session. But when I log in the next time, I'm hidden again.
Does this happen to anyone else? Or am I just the quirky one?
