Ok, why, oh why must all the monsters die? In the second Resident Evil, Nemesis got killed, for no good reason. In all the Predator movies, the Hunters get killed, for no good reason. WHY??!!??!!

Same principle for Van Helsing. Why must the monsters' girlfriends die??? Simply to be fodder for fanfiction? It's a nice thing, but THE MONSTERS DON'T NEED TO DIE!!!!!!! :x :x :x :x :x

Because they star in bad movies?

Without the monster dying, we have no movie.

Somehow, I'm not losing any sleep over whatever happened in AVP. I did not go see the movie, as the whole project had no shred of credibility in my eyes, and I was more or less proven right by the film's poor critical reception and weak box office return: it was just a mediocre effort conceived by mediocre minds. After the near-travesty that was David Fincher's Alien 3, I swore to avoid any future Alien films--unless they were directed by either Ridley Scott or James Cameron, and this bloke who directed AVP was obviously neither one.

It is true that all movie monsters die.
King Kong
Godzilla
Frankenstein's Monster
Dracula
Wolfmen of every description
Aliens
Predators
The list is endless but they almost always share a common aspect........
They are nearly always reborn or their deaths are explained away. Godzilla was completely disintegrated in his first outing yet he's come back to star in dozens of sequels. Never fear. The monsters will be back...trust me. :-)

If this thread were considered a monster, would it die too?

Well, as of now, I'm a monster using a lovely maiden's computer. I think I'm a pretty good judge. Also, on tv the other night, in Predator, the first one, the Yautja was described as a "sneaky alien monster" so, uh, yeah. 8O
I have this sneaking suspicion that I'm being mocked. :?
Tar'in went after Godzilla. He was very..... ambitious. :(
I would insult the person who called AVP mediocre, but everything would get bleeped out.

Oh, it's alright if the xenomorphs die. It's even ok to kill off a few trophy obsessed Yautja. But nooooo, don't kill the Oomans, oh nooo, that would be awful......
(Sarcasm. Lurvely, ain't it?)
Whaddaya mean, no movie??? Ain't the Alien drool flying everywhere good enough for ya? ;)

But why waste a perfectly good monster? Nemesis was cool, as was Inu, aka Scar. 8) How can they reincarnate, unless you defy the rules of fanfic and pull a Fifth Element.

*is firmly plonked on the head by a Raver-thrown bottle of strawberry bubblebath* Ow.
