That's not a very good picture of it.

Strange, on every Donaldson book I have (except Runes) he's credited as Stephen Donaldson, but on most others he seems to be Stephen R. Donaldson. Is there any particular reason?

Almost all UK editions miss out the R. I think those Mordant's Need ones are the only UK ones I've seen that don't.

ah, I thought it might be something like that.

The top two in Edge's post are the ones I have. They're also my favourites. I don't like any of the others except the one second from bottom on the left.

I share that opinion, Nathan - and the top 2 are also the ones I own.

I particularly dislike the French ones (3rd row). They don't seem to bear any relation to the actual books, but are just 'arty' for the sake of it.

The titles of the French ones seem a bit dodgy... Something about fire of passions for the mirror of her dreams and for a man rides through it's "a rider passes".

The first one in particular reminds me of Briny the pirate.

What title does the second-right one have? Looks like the pair are both "The Mirror of Her ____"

Edit: I looked it up, seems that the dutch titles are "The Mirror of Her Dreams" and "The Mirror of Her Fantasy (/Illusion?)"

First time I read this the cover looked like Edge's second from bottom on the left, but when I went to buy my own copies they're like Murrin's above.

Mine are the same as Edge's. I had a copy of AMRT like Danlo's, but passed it on or gave it away or something.

Like danlo, I have the Michael Whelan covers to the Mordant's Need books. I've long admired that guy's artwork! I bet his sculptures will be very impressive as well (I've read somewhere that's what he's into doing now).

Not usually a huge fan to be honest. I liked his colour plates for DT1 and 7 though.

Yes, those illustrations to the Stephen King series are good, too. I started to get into his artwork when I read the U.S. paperback versions of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders books years ago, and now I'm just too biased towards Whelan's depictions to judge him impartially anymore (sorry about that! ;) ).

Hahaha, I don't have anything against him, I just don't like his SRD covers. :D
