Who should be the MVP? Will it be...
Kevin Garnett, who is carrying Minnesota?
Kobe Bryant, who was, for a time, carrying the Lakers??
Ben Wallace, the most indentifiable "star" on the star-LESS Pistons?
or Tracy McGrady, carrying his Orlando Magic on a late-season run to the playoffs?

Funny that Jason Kidd's numbers are arguable BETTER than last year, and nobody is talking him up.

Ya, but his team's not the seed it was last year, is it?

Yeah, the Nets dropped all the way to a #2 seed! What an epic drop...
My point was perhaps unclear. If Kidd isn't in mvp contention this year, why was he in contention last year? The Nets don't have as good a record, but the team isn't as good. And his numbers are better. He was either overrated last year, or underrated this year. I suspect it's the former.

I'll take McGrady. He's starting only now to come into his own. He's going to break out even MORE next year.

Danlo!
If Kidd isn't in mvp contention this year, why was he in contention last year?
Because other players are making such an effort this year: Kobe, TMac, and KG.

It's gotta be T-Mac or KG. None have done more with less surrounding them and both have placed there teams squarely on their shoulders in the playoffs.
Kobe has Shaq.
Ben Wallace is tremendous but he doesn't have the offense to match his D.
I'll second Danlo and Dukka...I think Duncan should be considered and Kidd as well but Nowitzki (As good as he is) is playing with some pretty fine talent. Put him on Orlando and I think he'd see much more defensive attention and his numbers would probably suffer slightly.

One could say the same thing about Kidd as well.

Duncan won it.

Well, looks like Danlo had it pegged. Although I still think KG and TMac had better years.

Sure the MVP is for the regular season, but Duncan is having a great playoffs so far.
