Will "He" Take Charge? [Ending Spoilers]

OK, the main character of Runes has been Linden, but at the end, Covenant arrives. Now assuming that it really is him, will he take charge of the job of finding Foul and dealing with him? Or is Linden going to be calling the shots and he is helping?
I think that Linden is going to give him the ring and keep the staff since it is "hers". Together they will do the impossible!

If we're working on the assumption he really is back, I foresee Covenant taking over on the whole, but with many an annoying interruption from that upstart Linden...

If I manage to masquerade as SRD, I foresee Covenant blasting Linden into vapour with wild magic, then getting paralytic on the dubious wares of the Mahdoubt

I think that, at least at first, Covenant will take a kind of side-role to events. I can see him sorta guiding Linden along but not telling her outright what she needs to do, and not taking an active role in events. He won't want (/need?) the ring (and I have serious doubts about his ability to take it if he wanted to), and
(Revenant spoiler, be warned)
he certainly won't want the Staff, if its very proximity would dismiss him. That particular fact suggests at origins of his manifestation that go against Law, which the Staff would counteract. Interesting.

That is a good question in itself, Morrin. Would Covenant even want the ring back?

I'm going on the assumption that TC is the 'fatal revenant'.
i.e. the ghost of TC kills Linden.

Based on what he became at the end of White Gold Wielder, I don't think he needs a ring any more. It's Linden's ring now, and she needs to realise that, and accept it.

I vote that Edge should write is own Last Chrons (fan fiction) in which this happens.

Agreed. I think that TC will be central to the story, but in a way that does not require him to be the white gold weilder. White gold is old; he's moved on to problems that need to be solved in another way. The old TC who walks around and blasts things is gone. In a way, this is carrying what happened in the Second Chronicles (not being able to defeat the Sunbane, or in fact weild power for any good cause) to the next level. I think that Covenant's 'criticality' to the Land now derives from his relationship to Foul and the Creator.

contrary to others desires, I really hope Linden shines! But I think it will end up being a very dramatic/tragic love story, withy Linden and Thoma sharing the spotlight and being annoying at different times.
But true love will prevail!!!

According to Mousglove's reading,
TC or Jerry can't be around the SOL when it's in power, or be touched.
...so We will get to hear his famous sentinent at least, "Don't touch me."[

Close quotes from Runes that sums it up:
TC: "remember Linden, I am dead..."
Mahdoubt: "watch out for love"

sound advice indeed; but when did sound advice ever impede true love?...

Some of us don't want to know what is in Mousegloves reading.
OOPS. Too late!

But it's not your call to decide how much it's okay to spoil a new TCTC book for someone.

Has "he" ever been in charge?
He wouldn't take charge in the first chronicles because he didn't believe there was anything to take charge of. He wouldn't take charge in the second chronicles because he was too powerful and at the same time had lost his acuity and was blinded to how to use power, that was when he wasn't a vegetable.
It appears he may not be able to take charge in the last chronicles.
(This forum does say expect spoilers and this is already out of the bag)
He seems less to be in charge as a last resort for those who are in charge but have been surpassed by events.
