Posted on Dragonmount earlier this week:
Yes, Knife of Dreams is finally done. Harriet and I completed the editing this past weekend, and today I finished going over the glossary. A day or two to mull it over and make sure there isn't anything else I want to do, and off it goes to [Tor Books]. It seems like a pretty good book, to me. A long-running thread or two finally get tied off.
I am doing cleanup on my notes in preparation for starting the twelfth book, but I will get in a little fishing this summer, and maybe some golf. Of course, [Harriet and I will] be in San Diego for the International ComicCon [...] and in Atlanta for DragonCon at Labor Day. They have a complete Wheel of Time track, and they've been asking me for years, but this is the first time I've actually been free to attend.
Anyway, the release date is still October 11th.

I believe the release date for Martin's A Feast For Crows is Nov. 8 in the US (GRRM's books often come out in Europe first). From what I understand, that date is not set in stone, and it might even come out earlier. :D

Should be a good fall for the fans of either (or both) of these two authors. 8)

So that means there are only 6 more WoT books left to go. ;)

Actually, Hell froze over in 1995. Proof:

1. The Eagles, having announced back in 1980 that they would get back together when Hell froze over, got back together. They released a new album, aptly entitled 'Hell Freezes Over'.

2. The Beatles got back together for their 'Anthology' series, including those two BRAND! NEW!! BEATLE!!! SONGS!!!!, which (if memory serves) were called 'Free of a Tune' and 'Real Lame'. On Letterman's Top 10 List of reasons for this event, #1 was 'Hell has just frozen over'.

3. In case there was still any kind of doubt that the temperature in the Infernal Regions had dropped below the freezing point, 1995 was the first time that the Devils won the Stanley Cup.
