New York State Get Together-- Spamalot??

A couple of people have mentioned that they might like to go see the broadway musical Spamalot in NYC. :)

From what I understand, it is very popular, so if people would like to go, we should probably order tickets fairly soon. :)

Also, due to its popularity, I'm pretty certain the tickets will not be available at the same day half off ticket booth.

So this a poll for people participating in the weekend to see if enough interest is there to go ahead and try to figure out whether or not to get tickets. 8)

When answering, remember that we are already talking about going to a Yankees game. And the baseball game is a lot cheaper if we get bleacher seats, if that would be a consideration. 8)

Well, as I'm sure all expected, I voted for skinnydipping. (But let me remind all that duchess is the one who put that option there!)

If we must choose between baseball and Spamalot, I guess I'd rather see Spamalot with a bunch of fellow fans. If we can do both, that would be great.

dlb, does this mean you're definitely planning on being here? :D

What is Spamalot about? The canned meat or junk email??

It's Eric Idle's Broadway comedy that borrows freely from MP and the Holy Grail and alot of their songs, like, Spam, spam, spam, eggs and spam...spammity spam (Hank Azaria (Birdcage, many voices on The Simpsons) is in it too... 8) )

The Yankees suck, but they'll be playing the White Sox, who don't suck. Bleacher seats at Yankee stadium are only $12.

I am almost afraid to see what broadway tickets go for these days...but looking at this:
www.livebroadway.com/
the cheapest seats start at about $36.
There is a limit to 10 tickets per order, and no children under 4 are allowed into the play.

What does our head count come to? Is it ten or less? :?

ps. Fisty -- I put in the skinnydipping choice just for you.

Well with the Sox, you'll be able to watch a good team. 8)

Aren't there a lot of odd floating things in the Hudson as well?

"Float" isn't exactly the right word. Things just kinda sit there on top of the sludge.

Heh. Kidding. The Hudson has improved tremendously in the last couple decades. There's usually people water skiing and stuff, but I don't know what areas legally allow skiing and swimming.

That is such good news!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Now then, the Yankees are not home for the weekend of the get-together. They are home against the White Sox later that week. So if people want to see the Yankees they will have to stick around a few days. As far as I know, that would only be me and Fist and maybe Danlo?

However, if people just want to go to a ball game and have fun, the Mets will be home that weekend, if I remember the schedule correctly, and they will playing da poor ickle Cubbies.

(Must be Chicago week in New York or something. 8) )

If people want both a ball game and Spamalot, perhaps the game one day and the play the other so people do not get exhausted? Or we can do it all in one day and all collapse on the way back to Fisty's? Or we can do one or the other, and go up to Fisty's favorite swimming hole in the Catskills the other day? 8)

Whatcha all think? :)

I'm flying in Friday night and out Monday morning. Spamalot for me is a must-see, perhaps either Saturday or Sunday night? What is in store for us for that weekend? There so much in NYC that I'd like to see, like the WTC site and the SoL (not the Staff of Law.)
