Just gathering your thoughts so feel free to comment :) It's not currently a case of costs being high but if the current host was to start charging for database size (like the previous host did) then the cost could skyrocket considering that our database size is in excess of 230 Megs and bound to grow bigger and bigger :)

I know a lot of sites do this kind of thing, and though I'm not the kind of person to make donations, I can see how it can be a help. I don't think I'd have a problem with it.

If I knew it was all going towards upkeep for the site I'd donate a bit here and there when I had the spare cash.

I am already a member of one site that was free and has instituted dues. I am not able to pay their dues, but I donate when I am able. I would do the same for KW, if necessary.

I've been hoping, for years, to be able to help you with the load. I'd be glad to contribute.

As long as I get the proceeds, it's okay with me......okay, okay. Do you accept Paypal?

This is the *ONLY* site that I'd be willing to fork over some dough to help keep going.

I go to a Disney Forum that has a way to contribute and when you do you become a sponser and you get a few perks.
I can't imagine what kind of perks KW could offer but I think that just the "sponser logo" by itself might be a lot of fun to use here.
Not that it matters, I think those who contribute will just do it but it can't hurt.

If you look at the link provided it will give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
Maybe you could have the "Life Time Sponser" be a "White Gold Sponser" icon added to the contributer's signiture or a footer or something.
Or a colored frame around the avatar!
:D
Of course then we're talking MORE bandwidth which just defeats the purpose of the whole idea. :-x

If you donate, then you get a free Jaytar, or 50% off your next purchase of a Jaytar. Whichever is more expensive.-jay

As I do not have a credit card (don't believe in them) it may be hard for me to donate.

...oh thats rite,,i'm supposed to include my thoughts as requested, as well..I have seen the concept successfully executed at other sites. Be prepared to keep tight books on the money, because there is ALWAYS a few who will insist that you are running a scam. Be ready to have to blow them out of the water.

Also,,be ready to deal with the conflict of donations made and " status" or parameters enforced. Some one always makes an issue by practice or hint, that a donation means wider parameters applied to the Art of Posting. Donations mean no censorship...??,,In effect,,how much of the benevelent authoritarian gets replaced by the Parliment? Some thing to consider.

And the biggest concern is..will the long winded around here,,and you know who you are,, feel obligated and or pressure to literally " put your money where your mouth is"?..like,,as one is typing away,,and a predetermined count is exceeded, a pop-up ad blossoms on the screen ,of a scrawny computor geek with Sally Struthers behind him pleading for donations to help him get his glasses fixed, a bath,,a trip to the laundromat,,,a few square meals a day,,and in at least one case or so,,well,," just do it" if ya know what I mean...Okay I give that idea away free. I f a computor geek out there can make the software package up and sell it,,please give some of proceeds to KW...MEL

I would be more than happy to contribute, but I don't have a credit card (and won't be applying for one any time soon). What about cheques? Money orders?
