... does anyone have one?

Apologies if this has been asked in the past, i'm new to rhis forum, and did perform a quick search, but could not find what I wanted.

On a side note, does anyone have the "Atlas of the Land" by Karen Wynn Fonstad? How valuable is it as a companion to the 'covenant series?

The krill is shown on one of the covers of The Wounded Land.
Covenant is standing at the edge of Lake Glimmermere, using White Magic to raise the sword from the waters.

Greetings, fellow Covenant reader! Every now and then we get a question about the Atlas of the Land. There are already a couple of threads about it, such as this recent one: If anyone is looking for "The Atlas of the Land"

Anyway, I feel the Atlas is a great companion book to the Chronicles. Donaldson actually collaborated with Fonstad on the Atlas, so you can be assured of the reliability of the information it presents. You get Fonstad's maps of all the places Covenant visits in the 1st and 2nd Chronicles, along with her own insightful accompanying text. The Atlas was the work of someone who clearly loved the Land as much as SRD did, dare I say. Sadly, Karen Fonstad passed away recently. :( Gone, but not forgotten.

If you want to see some drawings from the Atlas, click on the Album and go to the "TCTC album" section for some images. Furls Fire scanned them from her own copy of the Atlas. (Hmm, maybe I should get off my butt and do the same.) :)

I do have the atlas, got it from www. abebooks.com; reasonable price and condition. I do not say that I have it open at my side every time I read TCTC, but it _is_ interesting.

I got my copy of the Atlas when it first came out (yah, I'm that old). I found it an interesting book to read AFTER one has read the books. I would stress allowing your own imagination picture things.

Thanks for all your responses.
A furthr question - does anyone have a high-res scan of the cover of the wounded land with the krill on? I have seen the one on theland web site, and while that does give a fair picture of the sword, its not too great for detail.

Ontop of my pevious request, does a picture exist of the Staff of Law? For those of you who own the Atlas', does the book only deal with places or does it also contain any info on weapons/peoples etc (yes, I know the title Atlas should really explain any questions about the book, but anyhows...)

As always, any help is appreciated

(It was wrapped in cloth and kept hidden under Sunder's tunic.)
