Casting only one character with a major star

You know there are so many different threads regarding who to cast for what part if these movies are ever made it's really hard to keep up with it all. One thing most of agree on is that the budget is going to make an all-star line-up unlikely.

So, sticking to LFB ONLY perhaps the wisest move would be to use unknowns except for one pivitol role (such as Sir Alec Guinnes playing Obi-Wan).

I would think it should be Mhoram. He is a major character, even when not in the forefront of action. This way, there would be a "name" for box-office draw without giving "star billing".

Who would I cast? I don't really know. I would have said either Liam Neeson or Harrison Ford, perhaps, but I think they are both too old for the role now. Laurence Fishburn or Andre Braugher would both be excellant but only if they scrapped the physical similarities of the Land's people (or cast a lot of African Americans). Daniel Day Lewis perhaps.

Other thoughts?

I've always imagined Mhoram's manner to be something like the way Peter Woodward played Galen the technomage in Babylon Project: Crusade, though perhaps not so overtly cryptic.

Mhoram would be a good choice for the 'only-name' though, the role involves a lot of screen time in all three books and doesn't involve the obvious problems faced in the Covenant role. Now we just need to dupe a latter-day Mark Hammill into playing TC!
