I think my favorite would be John Lennon's voice on "Mother", from his first (and arguably best) solo album. Just floors me every time I listen to that song. More later.

Freddy Mercury singing anything. Best voice in Rock. Period.

Marc Bolan (T-Rex) has got a truly haunting voice.

And of course there's Rob Halford.

Morrissey. His crooning voice blows all others away. It just conveys such emotion and power.

Wonder if Foul might be talking about favorite vocals on a specific song?

If that's the case, one that jumps immediately to mind is David Byrne's vocals on Talking Heads's "Once In A Lifetime." That's classic, quirky, inimitable Byrne.

And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife,
And you may ask yourself--well...how did I get here?

Roger Daltrey of the Who, as well. Think of his scream in "We Don't Get Fooled Again."

Whoa, Furls doesn't mess around! :)
Stevie Nicks...Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night...
 What a seductive voice she has. My favorite Nicks song is Stand Back, an Eighties classic.
Bono...Is it getting better? Or do you feel the same? Does it make it easier on you now, you got someone to blame?
Great song, great album! :D

Can...not...stand...karaoke...

If I happen to "sing" along with a favorite song, I just mouth the words. Yeah, like I really want to hear my own voice over Kate Bush or Stevie Nicks.

And what is it with the particular obssession with karaoke in Japan and perhaps other Asian countries? Has anyone figured this out? I maybe Oriental, but I don't feel any overwhelming desire to pick up a microphone and assault everyone with my, uh, outstanding (in one way or another) singing voice. *barf*
