About differences of The Land and our own world

I would like to discuss about social aspects of the Land in comparision with our world. Differences about true values between two worlds.
In my opinion life values in our world are torn apart, disordered, lie lifeless under the dust of human neglect, of human disgust. It seems that we are running to meet our end with eager enthusiasm. I live in country that is satiated with hate and absurd. But as i see it is no better enywhere else. One may ask himself why do we envy so much for unworthy things that we dont have, for all truly rubbish stuff. Compassion is above our grasp. Guardians or heroes are dead. Legion of those who seems to be blind are killing all that truly matter, we are lost in whole universe of useless thoughts. We that are not blind are rendered still and without motion.
The whole human race now resides in that small number of alive people.
In the Land, there is so much that can fill the hearts of it’s denizens. The truly amazing woth of being alive, to strugle against those who defile the divine essence of life. To heal is to give and to guard.
There is an endless divine in dignity of Bloodguard, an essence of friendship in glorious giants, skyfull compasion in the core of the Lords of the Land and in allmost all creatures.
The magic Lore, the peace low, the worth of the stand, the wisdom that comes from whitin the full heart.
Who wouldnt want to have it’s own family on the Lands ground. It looks that all of Lands creatures are heroes. It looks that they are all alive.
Because the english is not my native language it is so hard to express all that stands in my head screaming to be written on this ‘paper’ of this forum. Maybe I’ll be able someday to do that, but for now this is it. The countless number of attributes of the Land can not be written but only fellt.

I can't believe this post hasn't gotten any replies yet. (This is the first time I've made it out of the collective all week.)
First, Welcome Kalindril welcome indeed. An excellent post, and even more so when you consider english is not your first language. I wouldn't even dream of attempting a similar post in Serbian (Croation? Albanian?

)
It does seem, especially in the light of the many terrible things that are happening all across the world, that the light is in retreat.
But we must always remember that compassion is not out of reach of each individual, no matter what it looks like the world is doing, and that all that can be expected of every one of us is that we do our best.
The Land has and incredible advantage, (apart from the fact that it is not real) and that is the fact that selfless service has visible rewards. Something like Earthpower is a real and tangible thing, that the inhabitants of the Land can witness, feel and experience.
Indeed, I believe that had we as people even only the Health-Sense of the Land dwellers, we would be automatically more "compassionate", as we'd be able to directly
see when we did harm to somebody else.
That wisdom that you mention is not outside our grasp. It is up to us to apply it in an attempt to make others understand as well. And sometimes hope is all we have.

...I've heard it said more than once; I wish i lived in the Land. Ive more than once replied; then make it so.
..The modern romantic notion is,,there is no such thing as Perfection,,and if you hear of one reaching it...be very warey. The important thing of Real life is the continuing exploration...the actual execution of the " hope". This is where i find abit of subtle dark irony with the Land. There is abit too much perfection..I wish I lived there..with the Land. Thats the Donaldson paradox. He places a must doubter in the midst of all this white and black. Its his journey that makes so much gray out of it all.
Lord Foul reigns supreme in your real world. The key to conquering Despair is not so much the opposite..but what you find in the journey towards the opposite...The 3rd alternate or 4th or 5th alternate is what kills Despair. The unattainable purity of the opposite of despair,,if singularly attempted,,is just a set up for more despair. The act of exploration releases unknowns that when dealt with honestly, can be of positive re-inforcing nature. One has the capacity to rise above the worse human attributes if there is passion in your motivation.
The Land is already populated with abunch of perfectly happy folks. Toms presense is their woe. The real world is despair and woe. You have to find the Lands Folks inside of you.....MEL

Our world has Dunkin' Donuts. The Land does not.
That's the only difference I can think of at the top of my head. I'll try to think of some more.-jay

But, Jay, the Land has Damelon's Donuts.

Then why was Mhoram summoning himself to our world for a quick fix?
Heh.

You're right, of course. Silly of me. I should have said the Land had Damelon's Donuts, but not anymore. The chain of Damelon's Donuts was another work of the Old Lords that was obliterated by the Ritual of Desecration, leaving only bare hints of Damelon's special recipe in the First Ward of Kevin's Lore for the new Lords to study. Since the new Lords lacked the culinary knowledge of Damelon, they were unable to successfully recreate his legendary Donuts. However, the Second Ward hinted at a great Donut place that existed beyond the Land. Aided by High Lord Elena and the power of the Staff of Law, Mhoram found a means to access this great Donut place--which happened to be Dunkin Donuts in our "real" world.
Unfortunately, despite Mhoram's oracular status, the Council failed to take advantage of Dunkin Donuts to feed the Warward during the great campaign against Fleshharrower's army. Some survivors of that terrible conflict believed in retrospect that Warmark Hile Troy had distrusted the Dunkin Donuts strategy and had convinced the Lords to seek a low-fat alternative instead. This wasted valuable time, and--some believe--was an example of the kind of flawed, inexperienced decision-making on the part of Troy that led to the Warward's near ruin at the end. It was also perhaps an example of how easily the Lords could be taken in by Troy's charm, that he could persuade them to ignore Mhoram's oracular visions of Donuts and follow his own low-fat strategy instead. If it had not been for Mhoram's last minute deal with the Forestal of Garroting Deep--lifetime free supply of Dunkin's Donuts plus Troy's soul in exchange for passage through the Forest--perhaps there would not have been any survivors of the Warward left at all to tell the tale.
(Apologies to Kalindril for hijacking this thread. Great post, Kalindril! Please don't mind me. It's Friday night and I'm feeling a little goofy.)
