Bank rules?

So what are the rules of the bank?
I gathered, from someone else's question, that there is a 2% withdrawal fee.
What are the rules for accrual of interest? I see that the interest rate is 2%, but over what period? Per day, per week, per month, or what?
Just trying to get my account in order...

Can we rob the bank? No, but, really, we need lotteries or some kind of mini-games or game show threads. "Who Wants To Be A WGD-aire?"

Great ideas Soulcrusher! I also was wondering what the rules are for accruing the WGD's. Do you get one per reply and 2 for a new topic?
I was thinking that there should be different amounts awarded for different things. e.g.
2 WGD for a response to a topic.
5 WGD for a new Topic.
1 WGD for each response to a topic which you created.
300,000 WGD for any posts exceeding 1000 words on the current Iraq situation.

(I think I would be up to about 900,000 WGD's by now!)
But in all seriousness, I think the first three would work. Your thoughts Vain?

That's exactly how Vain set it up originally, as per his post on Jan 28th in the "I'm thinking out loud" thread.

I LIKE this idea!

I like that idea, too. That way the person who creates an especially great topic can be rewarded for it.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water......
The interest rate is 2% and the interest accrual period is 18 000 seconds (about 4 hours). There's a 2% withdrawal fee as well.
In the interim, I have upped the tally to 4 WGD's per reply and 10 per new topic (prolly for the month of April only)
The modification doesn't currently allow for adding points for each reply to your posts - although it sounds fairly nifty and worthy of a bit of research

Did not!

I did that to show respect for the wonderful ur-vile that made the shop. I am shocked that anyone would accuse me of such a thing.
Everyone was thinking "Hail Vain" anyway.
*counts WGDs

::calculates how fast her WGDs will multiply enough to buy more than a basic title. Comes to the conclusion, not fast enough.

So that's how I got 10 WGDs for starting this topic.

Thanks, Vain. You the man.

Hmm...Well, I've got my title and my glow, or some glow at least. Maybe I'll just sit back and wait for my interest to accrue so I can fix things up a little more...

Regarding Brinn's idea, how about the creator of a thread gets 10 (or whatever) WGD's for every 20 (or whatever) replies.
And how about
losing WGD's for getting only 1 reply (not counting your own?) for every 20 (or whatever) views? That might make us more selective, and encourage us to... something or other. But then, I
really liked my
Two *extremely* cool chapters topic, but only one other person who read it did. So I guess I'd be upset about losing WGD's. Oh hell, I don't know!

I am not in favor of losing WGDs just because someone doesn't respond to my posts.
I am having a hard enough time accumulating enough WGDs to buy anything besides my title as it is.
Sheesh! Doesn't longevity at the site count for anything??!!

Speaking of which, was the [new] site's anniversary last month? I noticed most seniors had registered in March 2002...

You're right, mhoram. The anniversary passed without any of us noticing it!. Last March was when Vain moved us on over here from exboard to get us away from those danged pop-up ads.
And I have to say, he has done a very nice job of maintaining this site.
Kudos to Vain.
