Temporal Anomalies?

There are many recorded first-hand stories of people experiencing time anomalies - being taken temporarily into another time.
One of the most well-known and best-documented accounts is that of two respectable Englishwomen - Annie Moberly, Principal of St. Hugh's College in Oxford, and a colleague, Dr. Eleanor Frances Jourdain, who while visiting Versailles in 1901, apparently were somehow taken back to the time of the French Revolution. This experience was documented in "Time Slip--Dreams: A Parallel Reality" by Johannes von Buttlar, and Annie Moberley later wrote her own account of it.
The story is recounted here: members.aol.com/timeslip8888/versailles.html
And anecdotal accounts of other experiences can be seen here: members.aol.com/timeslip8888/
Can anyone offer any explanation for this? Do you think it's genuine?
