Ok. She just lost the guy she loves, has loved for months or possible just a few hours depending on how you look at it, and if that's not weird enough, just look at her previous situation...her bare apartment, joyless life and career...what's she gonna do? Just moved there, no real friend she can share with, and while she has a history of self-sufficiency much like Covenant herself, hopefully we've killed all those weird bitter self-hating impulses during those agonising adventures we just read, right? Or not. Whatever.
I don't think she could just go back to work...I think a nervous breakdown would be more appropriate, for me...yeesh, such tension at the end of a book, maybe she's not as much of a "closed line of thought" as I thought...

I dunno, she did go through a lot of personal growth in WGW, I hope that in healing the Land she also did some healing of herself...

I think that experience of wielding the Staff, feeling Earthpower flow out form you and healing all the Land could provode ammunition to survive a lifetime I think; although also a yearning would remain; TC is now the same as the Land, fused together, and that must be hard to bear -lost both, when both had found their own true selves...

I remember thinking at the time how strange Linden's boss (can't remember his name) would find the way she is now likely to grieve for Covenant. As far as he knew, she only knew him for a couple of days.

As her son features in the Last Chronicles, it seems likely that TC got her pregnant too (sly old dog! ). I wonder how she'll explain that.

Didn't someone who attended an SRD reading at a conference hear a chapter where it discusses how Linden adopted an autistic child?

Ah, just noticed a flaw in the logic of Covenant and Linden having a child. I remembered that you leave the land in the exact physical condition you were in when you came into it. Surely Linden could not become pregnant whilst she was in the Land, indicating that she may have acquired a gentlemen-friend between the second and third chronicles. Perhaps this is the answer to whether Linden leaves the Land a less troubled individual.

Unless of course the Creator used some of his jiggery-pokery and let her get pregnant by TC. Or alternatively, she obtains a sperm sample from Covenant's body and artificially insemenates herself.

It wouldn't be difficult for Linden, as a physician, provided she took it pretty much straight after the Second Chronicles finished. Covenant hadn't been dead very long, the sperm would stay alive for a fair few hours.

I'm fairly certain that I saw in a thread somewhere written by someone who attended an SRD reading that Linden's child is adopted.

We don't need to worry about unusual uses of turkey basters in this case.

Good point, dukkha. If Linden joined Vain and Findail to create the new Staff of Law then she could possibly join herself with TC......but wait, that wouldn't work.
