Runes - do I wait?

Hi

I am a newbie here, I remember lurking for a while a few years ago, when the Runes where still more of a rumour than fact.

I discovered the forum after having read the first two chronicles, reading one book after another as they had all been published years before.
Whilst I am glad that he has decided to undertake the massive commitment required to write the Third chronciles, it has left me with a bit of a problem.
If I know that a book is part of a trilogy or series then I like to know that the next volume is available for me to read. I managed to time my reading of The Dark Tower to perfection, but with the last book not due out until 2013 (I will definitely be middle-aged then!!), do I read now, or wait 8 years until completion?

Welcome to the Watch! And I agree, read Runes now, and suffer with the rest of us for Fatal Revenant.

I was thinking about the same thing just last Friday but prevailed only a brief while before I gave in and bought The Runes of the Earth. There is no hope for you. You will be assimilated.

You probably know the affordable mass market paperback is out now. You might as well buy it now. Ten years from now who knows if the entire series can be readily found on a bookstore shelf.

Well met, pigeonslayer.
I'm definately of the "read now!" opinion. But, like you, for ANY other author, I wait until I can read all books in whatever series is done (I stopped buy Jordan books after the sixth, so they are sitting on my shelf, unread and collecting dust). But personally, I HAVE to read Donaldson when anything he does comes out.
So, like I did for GAP series, and will do for The Last TCC, read book one now, read it again when the second comes out, read the frist two again when the thrid comes out and again read these three again when the fourth comes out. Then sit back and be content that you have read a fine story.
