Bethesda Softworks have released a twenty minute video of game footage from the latest in their Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion.
Download the video here (you need to be a member of Fileplanet - registration is free, but you'll sometimes have to queue for downloads).

Edit: Just finished watching - the visuals on this game are amazing, as are the game physics and the AI. Stunning.

Morrowing was 10 sq miles, but in reality, due to the ocean, it was 6 sq miles. As Oblivion game area has no oceans, that's almost 3 times the area of Morrowind. This game will be incredible.

*sighs, and repeats*

I was looking at number three the other day, but I decided not to get it because I haven't played the first two... does anybody know where I can get them?

I've never played the first two games. Morrowind is great, though.

You honestly don't need 1 & 2; they are separate games and not that good. Not to mention no longer available. 3, as Murrin said, is very good.

fair enough, I'll try and get some info on what has happened in the first two, then get the third one.

I have never been as excited for a game's release as I have been for Oblivion (Morrowind was unparalleled. Only Baldur's Gate and Deus Ex exceed it in my mind). I've also never been so close to tears upon reading the system requirements...

It can still run on your system, right?

I pass the minimums. As far as recommended goes...

My processor is too slow (2.4 instead of 3.0 Ghz)
My video card isn't up to par (as expected with a laptop)
I do have plenty of hard drive space and a DvD rom
And I do have 1GB of RAM

So, yes, I WILL PLAY OBLIVION.

I'll just have to turn the settings down.

I love the Elder Scrolls universe way too much to let something tiny like system requirements stop me. (And my reputation as the guy who knows everything about Morrowind simply requires me to do the same for Oblivion
 )
