In a moment of clarity today I realized what aspect of Thomas Covenant that Foul and the Creator are.

They are TC's amputated fingers.

Foul is the "Ring" finger.
Hence the never ending lust to regain the wedding ring.
The Creator is the pinkie finger.
Not sure what the significance of this is, perhaps none but there it is.

Sorry to ruin everything for everybody.
I sent Donaldson an email today telling him of my revelation and he wrote back to me saying "Damn!" and that he wasn't even going to continue writing the Last Chronicles anymore since I figured it all out.

He's going back to writing Power Rangers TV scripts.

The pinky finger reassures your hand's grip.

An Uncle of mine is a coal miner and he had one of his pinky fingers ripped off in an accident and he claims to lack the grip he once had.

I think that wraps it up quite well.
My work here is done.
Now to devote my energies to uncover the subtle nuances of The Sword of Shannara.

I'm sitting here grasping my ring and pinky finger in the opposing hand as to restrict them... damn this is annoying, no wonder Covenant is so grumpy.
