They finally announced that The Weatherman will be out in theaters on October 28th.

I'm totally going to see this movie the day it comes out, heh.

I don't care if I'm building myself up for the biggest letdown of the year.

This movie looks awesome, dammit. Heh.

The weatherman carries a bow and quiver of arrows when he walks down the street so people don't throw stuff at him for lousy weather forecasts. This is so much funnier on screen than in text form. Nicholas Cage walking down the street with a bow slung over his back. I have to see this.

I don't want to see it for any particular reason. The preview just looks funny as hell. Basically, what Alynna said, heh.

I would like to see this movie, but I don't know if I would be able to fit it into a busy "to see" schedule (unless I see this instead of a horror film next weekend)

Well, so far I've read that it's either the emotionally sophisticated movie of the year... or it's a total pile of dung. Guess it depends on what you think of emotionally sophisticated movies.

If I go see it with you, you have to go see Harry Potter 4 and not MST it. But don't worry, Quidditch gets canceled for this year. Instead you get to watch Harry swim!

That sounds good, I'm in an emotionally sophisticated movie kind of mood, heh. In a crazy year where I don't know how I'm going to graduate with my Masters, and have no idea what's going to happen after that, I'm in dire need to be inspired.

Even if that inspiration has to come from Nick Cage with a bow. Hehe.

Plus, my mind has convinced myself that this movie is going to be funny. I haven't read any of the reviews for it yet, though. I try to never read reviews for movies before seeing them anyway. I'm trying to prepare myself for a complete letdown, but it's hard, since the previews are so great. Heh.

Heh, ok, it's a deal. You see the Weather Man with me and I'll go see Harry Potter 4 with you, and I promise not to MST3K it. Even though the urge will probably be strong, I shall shut my yap during the movie, heh. When is HP4 coming out, anyway? This year?

I read reviews to see what the movie's actually about - like, this may be funny, but it's not really a comedy. Or maybe it is, and it's not a good comedy. I was confused on that point. Apparently there's a lot of cursing. A lot. A whole lot. Lotalotalot.

At the risk of jinxing it, I think my Saturday night is free. You just have to remind me so I don't come home from the barn, crash around 7 and sleep until 7 the next morning.

HP4 comes out in mid-November. I'm gonna miss those Quidditch matches... so much better than watching real sports.

Not good?

Not worth the money. There were some funny bits, but on the whole, this movie was seriously shallow. I'm a bit disappointed that Gore Verbinski chose to direct this thing (though the directing was decent).

Well, I enjoyed it (although I probably would have enjoyed it more if I could talk, heh). But I guess I agree with A that the movie was a bit shallow. It definitely had a lot of funny parts (although a lot of them were shown in the previews).

I got the impression that the movie seemed to try to convey some sort of deep, life-inspiring meaning. But I just couldn't figure out what it was, heh. And I'm not sure if the movie knew what it was trying to say, either.

Was it something like: "Life is crap, and all you can do is just do what you can do, so shut up and enjoy it."

Or was it: "Life isn't perfect and you can't always get what you want (and even if you try real hard, you don't always get what you need), that is, if you can even figure out what you really want (since you may not really know what you want) since who really knows what they really want, anyway."

Or maybe: "If life throws you a sack of crap, simply shoot arrows at it."

I seemed to get the general impression that the movie was trying to say something like: "Life is crap, and just accept it."

Well, it's the kind of movie where I have the urge to see it again, just to figure out what the heck it was trying to say.-jay
