Gotten this a few times in the past week or so:
Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at kevinswatch.ihugny.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I don't think the problem is on my end because I can access other sites with Firefox, and I get a 'page not available' when I try KW on Chrome.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

I got it on Xmas Day and wasn't able to log on at all. I was wondering was it a holidays thing, 4billion people playing Fallout 4, or something!

I'd say mainly in the afternoon (Pacific time) - but that's probably not very helpful since that's usually the only time I'm on during the week. Seems to usually last 1-2 hours or so, but there was one day (maybe the same day U had problems) where it seemed to be unavailable for several hours.

Can't say I'm surprised. Someone out there seems to have taken 'Can things get any worse?' as a challenge rather than a rhetorical question.

Perhaps you need to appease the Universe ... dancing in the moonlight? human sacrifices? or lighting candles at Stonehenge! Perhaps your friends can think of things to help! :)

I bet Sorus can think of a person or two who might benefit from a little sacrificing...

I have a list, though most would be rejected by any self-respecting deity.

I dunno, I don't recall most deities being particularly fussy when it comes to sacrifice. ;)

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /phpBB2/posting.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This is what happens when you're trying to post on a thread at the exact same time as another member, and the forum likes their post better.

Not that I'm taking it personally, or anything.

It's fine. I don't mind. :(

I have been getting that message, but haven't mentioned it because I keep getting that message whenever I try.

Wait a minute ...

I got this recently, but figured it was some unacceptable formatting carried over from cutting and pasting from Wiki. Once I just typed the text in it was fine.

A trick I learned in the past is to paste the text into Notepad and then copy it again. That acts a converter to plain text which strips out any extraneous formatting like hyperlinks etc.

Huh. Interesting. I actually was copy+pasting from Wiki at the time, though there wasn't any weird formatting and I've never had an issue before.

I logged in on Chrome (usually use Firefox) to see if the problem persisted, and there was a new post from another member on the thread I had been attempting to post on, so I jumped to the conclusion that we'd caused an itty-bitty traffic jam.

Lately, I cannot start any new topics on Kevin's Watch. I just keep getting an error message saying Internet Explorer cannot read my topic submission. It's quite frustrating.

I've been trying to start new topic threads on several of Donaldson's short stories in the forum General SRD Discussion and Other Works. And every time I press submit to post the topic, I get the notification that Internet Explorer cannot read my message, and I'm given no option but to go back to previous page, where I'm back at topic submission, and as I click Submit, I keep getting the same message.

Why won't this website allow me to post a new topic, I wonder???

Thank you for testing it, Sorus! I'm just not sure what's wrong, but at least we know it doesn't seem to be the website blocking us from creating new topics! There's just something I'm goint to have to check on my computer to see what de-bugging I can do! I was going to call the new topic I wanted to create in General SRD Discussion and Other Works by this title: By Any Other Name .

I was just going to put in an entry post that I have slightly revised, followed by an additional post inspired by a recent re-read of that short story. Thank you for your help, Sorus, it is very kind of you! :yourock: :bwave:
