I notice a lot of people have their usernames in their Avatars. Was that self-made, or is it a thing you can do here?

They're self-made. Or to be more accurate, Edge-made.

You can make your own, if you've got somewhere to host it, or a request to Edge, our resident hot-shot designer, will get you a nice, custom-made avatar, (known as Edgetars ) that he'll kindly host for you as well.

Drop him a PM, sure he'll help you out as soon as he has a chance if you want one.
