I'm not sure what audience Stallone thinks he's making these films for. The last Rambo and Rocky films were box office bombs. On the other hand, he received positive comments about his performance in Copland, so it's too bad he chose not to seek out more parts like that.

The important thing to remember is that both "Rocky" and "First Blood"were both really good films. Stallone won an Oscar for the "Rocky" screenplay, and he's proven he can act.
I'm going to hold out hope for both films, although I think there's a much better chance that "Rocky VI" will be the superior film.

Rocky vs Rambo, now that would be a film. Judge Dredd could fight the loser.

I actually enjoyed Oscar.
Over the Top is bad, Lock Up is worse. Looking over his filmography, he's had a ton of really bad films.

The Specialist & Assassins were cool--Get Carter a fairly good remake, but Mickey Rourke saved the movie and Daylight was formuliac but it held my interest. And I have to confess I even liked Driven even tho the plot was horrendously obvious from the very beginning (some
damm hot babes in that movie! Stacy Edwards, Estella Warren, Gina Gershon, Jasmin Wagner

).
Cliffhanger really rocked--I love that movie!

Copland was his best recent venture.

I agree Dennis. And I agree with you too Danlo, I loved Cliffhanger, and I thought Get Carter was much better than everyone gave it credit for.

OK, I know I've made fun of the new Rocky movie, but I saw the trailer this weekend, and it looks pretty damn good. And, it's another Rocky movie, for crying out loud. I'll see this out of loyalty if for no other reason.

I won't be making an effort to see it, but I think there's more potential in Rocky. Not a great fan of even the first Rocky, but at least it wasn't a bad film. Those of the sequels I've attempted to watch have been dire.

Ah! Estella Warren! *heads over to the relevant infamous thread in Gen Dis*
