One Ton of Food

at mass today the homily was about charity and how we should do more. the 1st reading was from Daniel about how he had to eat veggies and drink water for a period of time. the 2nd was about a woman who gave Jesus two coins, all she had and how that was more meaningful than giving part of your leftover cash. and then I read the bulletin and the schools are trying to donate one ton of food for the calender year.(to our local food bank) and then it was pressed upon my heart to do the same. to donate one ton of food between this Thanksgiving and next. a better math person can give you the exact, but it's around 5 and half pounds of food per day. my wife will be printing up donation sheets for our friends. I have no idea how long it will take, but if I go over I'll keep going and see how much I can donate. I'm hoping that maybe some other folks here are moved to do the same. in any amount really. wish me luck, send me prayers, and I'll keep an update here.
