I'm flying over to Mississippi next week(i live in England) and am taking the 1st Chrons with me to read from the beginning. It will be interesting to see how far through i get by the time i return.

So i wondered how fast people have read it...and how far they think i will get with a reasonable rate of reading on the outward and inward bound journeys?? :-)

I don't know in hours, but I think I read it in three days once.

I read until really late at night and pick up momentum, and then i'll find i'm ahead of myself because it's exciting... start turning the pages a little too eagerly
so I have to go back and read it again which isn't that bad but i want to know whats happening next... so i have to read things a million times especially if i find a bit i really really like... which is often...

I know, i'm hopeless
but thats only when i decide to read all night.
The first Chronicles could take eight or nine days if i want to enjoy myself properly, i don't like speed reading (or speed re-reading)

I think I have read them in about 4-5 days, without much trouble. They are not really big books.

I'm a speed-reader, so I can read them in about 12 hours on the weekend. Now, there is an ultra-condensed version of the Chronicles at Book-A-Minute. I can read that in 4.5 seconds!!

The first and maybe the next coupla times were probably five days or less, just for the first chrons, which is a long time for me, but now I reread over a coupla months because I'm familiar with the story and I spend a lot of time analysing...the second chrons I a weekend denying myself the comfort of eating, sleeping and ample bathroom going and read all three books...I was hypnotised, I literally couldn't quit reading from the time I opened TWL outside the library waiting on my ride to the end of the weekend late at night when I finished WGW and thought about it for a looooonnnng time.

considering from start of the day to the end i can crank out 1000-1500 pages,i think 1 day should suffice.
once i get into the books world i can flip through 50 pages before i notice how far i have gone.
I get immersed into books completely....more detial=more exciting=SRD all over.

The best I've managed so far is a week. The last time (which was very recently) took a month. I had to grab a few pages here and there whenever I had time. I don't think I spent more than 1/2 an hour at any one sitting. I'm currently reading WGW and its taken me a couple of days to get through 150 pages. Life is too busy.

A friend of mine once read The One Tree overnight before returning it to me in the morning.

I tested him on the contents, and he'd retained quite a lot for a first reading.

over about 2 months I read LFB and half of TIW. Then I suddenly had the urge to read it alot and finished the other half and TPTP within a week.

I read both chronicles again over the past month. That is 30 days for 6 books. It was a journey that I had to complete.

Moments that stick with me are the Kresh and the soft ones linking up with Foamfollowers legacy. A brilliant touch by Donaldson.

Vain just gets better. What an enigma.

Findail however is just a pain in the arse.

Linden and the relationship becomes even more painful on succesive reads.
Surely one of the most tragic love stories put to print.

It takes me about 2-3 days, barring life interruptions (like work and chores and eating and going to the...well, you get the point).

My last re-read of all 6 of them straight thru took me about a week. But, I'm always reading them, either for quotes *winks at Fist*, or for dissecting now. Just re-read Coercri in TWL, of course, I have THAT one memorized since it's my favorite chapter in all of the books. Can't get enough of that one. :)
