I am not making this up. My mother transcribed this from an office conversation this morning:
Office conversation:

T.: L., did you ever have black tea?

L.: Uhm, yes, what about it?

- What is it?

- It’s … tea.

- But how is it? Is it any good?

- Uhm, … just tea.

- So, it basically has no taste?

- Hm. Have you ever had iced tea?

- Yeah.

- So that’s black tea.

- No. it’s not. No way.

[Bhla, bhla, same things over]

- So what’s green tea?

- Well. It’s a different kind of tea. It’s more like green. There are different teas, depending how they are prepared and where they grow.

- Yes, I know white tea and iced tea, and green tea – I think that’s the herb tea, like mint. But I never had black.

- White tea is just black tea with milk.

- No way. It said on the box “White tea” and there was no milk in it.

- Maybe you should add milk, but you didn’t read it all.

R.: Well, it’s not really like that. Here, there is a little pamphlet on all kinds of teas. It’s all about what they are made of and how, and what they are used for. Herb teas are a different group and they are not really teas. Same with fruit teas.

- Fruit teas? What are you talking about!

- Yes, they are…

- Wait, wait. I don’t need to know all that. Just tell me which is good for cholesterol. Q. told me that it’s black tea and that since she started drinking it she lost 10 lbs in a week.

Office conversation sort of got suspended. R. gave up trying to explain. L. withheld her further opinions on white tea, being not sure who is right. T. is looking in the pamphlet for any miracles on losing lbs. and cholesterol.

And M is busy typing, trying to follow fast enough to give you the whole picture.

Hope you at least smiled.
I'm really not sure how to comment without being insulting...

does your mother's boss know she is being paid to transcribe office conversations?
