I was munching on one of my favourite cookies at lunch (shortbread) and decided to find out what kinds people like (also boosting my post totals  )

OK, my favourites are:
- shortbread
- Oreo (regular or doule-stuffed)

Nothing better in the world than a good, homemade chocolate chip cookie. That being said, I also love the peanut butter cookies with the Kiss on top.

I'm not very picky, when it comes to cookies. I only require that they are hot, chewy, fresh out of the oven, and anything within them are gooey and chocolately. Or peanutbuttery. Or even toffery, if such is possible. God, I love toffee. I wish my fingers were made of toffee. Would stop typing righ--

Cookie dough of any variety
Macaroons
White chocolate macadamia nut
Samoans (though I think the girlscouts changed the name)
Mint milanos
Mint oreos or the reverse oreos (or any oreos, really, so long as they're served in a bowl of milk)
Soft oatmeal cookies w/out raisins
And those no bake chocolate drop cookies

Ok, so there's only a few cookies I don't like. Hard, dry peanutbutter cookies, anything with raisins (though raisins are fine by themselves), and snickerdoodles.

How dare you talk about cookies when I am trying to lose weight? :P ;)

Mmm...My favorites are oatmeal raisin and peanut butter.

I also like shortbread, ginger snaps, and cream filled sandwich cookies. And Stella D'Oro Anisette toast.

And others. :D

Ohh yeah. Put 'em in the freezer so they're nice and cold. Gimme a sleeve of those and a glass of milk and I'm in Heaven.

Chocolate Chip is the best!
NO NUTS THOUGH!
For God's sake who thought putting nuts in there was a good idea?
:x
Toll House puts out these premade cookie dough thingys.
They're good.

From scratch though, I picked up a few tips by trial and error.
(Isn't it amazing how every little thing can change how a cookie comes out? Heat variations, gas or electric stove, brand of ingrediants, what rack to use, what type of pan.......)
I make Toll House all the time.
They come out like hockey pucks (tasty hockey pucks though!)
The other day I totally melted the butter rather than softening it.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT COOKIE!!!!
It was flat and crisp yet also chewy.

Milanos: mint or vanilla.
Oreos: traditional, double stuff, or mint.

In the unlikely event I actually get around to baking:

Preheat oven to 350.
Mix 1/2 cup softened butter and 1 cup brown sugar.
Beat in 2 eggs and a teaspoon of vanilla.
Mix in 1 1/4 cups sifted flour, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

Then add in your choice of approximately 1/2 cup of 'chips, caramel for preference, though chocolate or white chocolate or a mix are all quite acceptable.
1/2 cup of nuts is also optional.

Drop well-spaced onto a greased cookie sheet. (I personally prefer parchment paper.)
Bake until golden brown. (About 10 minutes.)
