Very little.

They can make topics stickies and announcements and can close, split or move threads.

EDIT - heres a better way of explaining taken from Duchess's thread in the Summonsing.

MODS
Mods keep their eyes on specific forums. Within his or her assigned forum he or she can do things like move a thread to another forum, can delete posts, can delete an entire thread, can edit a post, and can do esoteric things like split threads. At this time, mods also have the ability to give out small amounts of white gold dollars if they wish to have a contest or the like in their forum to generate interest in their forum. A mod tries to help things run smoothly inside his or her assigned forum, tries to keep peace between members, answer questions, and since this is a family friendly place, keep an eye out for naughty language and stuff like that. If anyone has a question about a specific forum, or a problem in a specific forum, the mod or mods of that forum are there to help you out.

There's nothing wrong. It's just a matter of resisting the temptation to use Mod powers for questionable acts, like resurrecting the dead. On second thought, I think only the god-like Admins can manage that particular trick.
