I am a HUGE fan of Mozart. Yah, this is a Rossini topic. But I just 'discovered' Rossini. I mean I knew some of his stuff (William Tell Overture, Figaro, Barber of Seville) and any layman might have heard, but I had not been exposed to much else. I picked up a "best of..." type thing, and WOW, some great stuff here! Generally, I am not a fan of opera (with the exception of 'Carmina Burana' and 'The Magic Flute'), I tend to find the music follows the lyrics like a shadow, uncreatively. But there is a peice off 'Bartolo', called "Ma, signor..." that was great! I might have to pick up this opera.
Can anyone recommend some symphonies or other compositions of his that I should/must pick up?

What I like about him is that he seems to have that same 'fun' with music as Mozart and it's so ful of energy and life.

must have more!

I am not familiar with this composer, but he sounds like someone I should be checking out. :)

Here is a link to a webpage about him that lists some reasonably priced recordings of his music:
