I just want to see it because Alexander Siddig of Deep Space Nine fame is in it.

Watched it yesterday morning. And, Jay, it wasn't just you, that has to be one of most incohesive movies I've ever seen. It was also pretty dull and plodding to where by the point they tried to tie everything together, I just wasn't that interested.

Glad I rented and didn't buy.

Y'all need to write to Regis Philbin and tell him that. When he went to the premeir of Syriana he said the same exact thing as Jay on Live the next morning, and his co-host and producer said it was just him and really teased him about it.

I tried watching it the other day. Oy!

It's not a popcorn movie - you have to pay attention - but I don't get where the "incoherent" and "confusing" critiques come from. My (14 year-old) daughter and I enjoyed it immensely. It manages to tell just about every side of a complicated situation, and is entertaining to boot.

(I do admit to completely forgetting about the terrorist-in-training several times, until he was onscreen again - but damn! When you can actually forget about the terrorist in a movie because the other stories are so engaging, that's saying something!)

Watch the BBC series Spooks, season two episode two. He plays a spy who infiltrates a terrorist cell. Superb performance.

Plissken, some of us are horribly ignorant of all things economic and politic. I don't Tank much, eh? A character might say something that, literally, may as well have been spoken in Chinese as far as I'm concerned. But it may have been a great moment in the movie for you.

Yeah, Pliss, what Fist said. I just remember watching it and having no clue what everyone was saying, and finding it really hard to follow what was going on, and who was doing what.

Not really that entertaining for me. Maybe if I watch it again, I'll understand it better. But right now, I just have no desire to sit through it again. Heh.-jay

I didn't see that. Something about the drug-trade?

The last 30 minutes or so, everything did start to make sense but getting to that point?

BTW, Traffic was an outstanding movie!

Traffic was written and directed by the same guy as Syriana. His whole thought on moviemaking is that Hollywood insults audiences by "keeping things simple," and that we can follow complex plotlines.

What I'm saying is that, if you enjoyed Traffic, but not Syriana, you're not slow or stupid -- you just need to spend more time in the 'Tank!

No, no, no!

Syriana is a great movie. I'm gonna buy it on DVD when it comes out here. Definately a movie that you need to concentrate on the whole way through but i found it reasonably straight forward.

I certainly can't speak for Jay or Fist, but I didn't take it that you were implying we were slow or stupid.

As for spending more time in The Tank.....rarely post there but do read the posts. Sometimes it makes me angry, disgusted, exasperated, or sad. Sometimes it makes me laugh and other times I'll be sitting here rolling my eyes. Sometimes I learn something! But, unlike Syriana, it never bores me!
