Life on Mars has just started on the BBC. The reason I mention it will become apparent.

It's basically about a Detective Chief Inspector who gets hit by a car in the present and awakes to find himself in 1973. Part drama, part comedy, it's reasonably enjoyable so far.

But there are glaring parallels with Covenant.

Not only is he hit by a car to be transported to an impossible world where he grapples with conflicting urges to believe and disbelieve, he also faces similar moral dilemmas to Covenant - such as whether he should sacrifice his principles to save innocents or cling to his principles and hope it works out.

Anyone else seen it? Any thoughts on the TC likenesses?

Named after a David Bowie song that was playing when the main character was hit by the car.

I caught a small part of this just as it was finishing.
Reviews I've read have been positive though.

TC parallels never occured to me until you mentioned them though.

Sounds pretty good. Hopefully it'll show up on PBS or maybe on BBC America some time.

forgive me for bumping this old thread, but having just finished watching Life on Mars on dvd I was about to start a new thread commenting on the strong parallels LoM has with SRD's Covenant books - CovenantJr was right on the money !

anyway it was a great series highlighted by a surreal and brilliantly acted finale which cast doubt on protagonist Sam Tyler's dilemma : as Sam's opening credits voiceover said every episode "am I mad, in a coma or back in time ?"
The finale managed to give credence to all three theories !

LOM was brilliant! I managed to catch it on local PBS recently.

All I need now is Jekyl.

ah, my Dad (who recommended and copied LoM for me) burnt me the Jekyl series (mini-series ?) havent got around to watching it yet, he said it was great.
