Any military history fans out there? I read the first book from his Civil War Narrative, the Time-Life edition, and it was pretty good. But it isn't easy getting the remaining 13 books. I've still got 4 to go, but I've seen some of them selling on ebay for over $100. Has anyone real the whole series? There was an original that was 3 big books. The Time-Life added maps, pics, and made nice cover.

Do a search, I'm pretty sure that there is a thread about him in here somewhere...somebody put it up when he died I think. Never read any of his books, but have seen them referenced often.

Shelby Foote's books on the Civil War are, imo, the best books out there on that time period.
I like to read history, not necessarly military. Yesterday, I had a few spare minutes to visit Borders where I browsed through A Team Of Rivals whose subject is Lincoln's cabinet members - Seward, Stanton, et al.

I'm a history fan myself, it was my minor, but military especially. My dad just got that book, Team of Rivals, for Xmas. Did it seem interesting? I'll have to borrow it from him. But it looks like I'll have to def complete my set of Shelby. Any other history authors that have written multiple books really impressed you Damelon?
