Night Watch--Set in contemporary Moscow, "Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)" revolves around the conflict and balance maintained between the forces of light and darkness -- the result of a medieval truce between the opposing sides. As night falls, the dark forces battle the super-human "Others" of the Night Watch, whose mission is to patrol and protect. But there is constant fear that an ancient prophecy will come true: that a powerful "Other" will rise up, be tempted by one of the sides, and tip the balance plunging the world into a renewed war between the dark and light, the results of which would be catastrophic. "Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)" is the first installment of a trilogy based on the best-selling sci-fi novels of Sergei Lukyanenko entitled Night Watch, Day Watch and Dusk Watch

A Scanner Darkly.

My favorite PK Dick story will probably end up being butchered by the over-the-top visuals and Keanu's wooden acting, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

Why? If you want to watch a piece of wood, I can send you this lovely mahogany plank. Much more interesting.

The spoiler trailer looks pretty good. Apparently James Marsden is busy filming his role in Superman so Cyclops has a much reduced role and Storm moves in to fill the gap (which is probably why Halle Berry didn't quit the role).

V For Vendetta

I'm a huge fan of Alan Moore's graphic novel (about a vigilante who wages war against a future fascist state). I'm hoping for a classic, but I'm bracing for a clunker. The adaptation is being produced by the Wachowski brothers, so it'll either be inspired or be butchered by over-the-top visuals and Keanu's wooden acting...oh, wait, Keanu isn't in this movie. But Natalie Portman is. At least she isn't paired with Hayden Christiansen again (speaking of lumber).

Natalie Portman is not a wooden actress.

She is actually amazing, if you were her other films.

I believe completely that whatever woodeness that was in Star Wars came from the pooress of the writing - which concentrated on action more than the characters.

Action, and telling a story everybody already pretty much knew. I do agree that Natalie is a good actress anywhere else.

Heh, sorry if I implied that Portman was a bad actress. Mishandled my words. I have no issues with her.
