Here's another short story for you to enjoy (and for me to publish before too long 
). This one--somehow--only took me about 27 hours to finish the rough draft and another 24(ish) to revise. I don't know exactly why, but I really like this story.

Note: the only thing I don't like about this story yet is the title. Just not sure if it's the right one or not.

Just so everyone knows, this story is the first of several set in the same "universe." Each story will introduce a new character and eventually, all of those characters will come together in a novel (or perhaps series of novels).
