Firefly/Serenity - Which did you like more?

This has been a discussion on several other threads, so I thought I'd make a poll and topic on the matter.

So which did you like most? Did you enjoy Firefly, with it's westerness and detailed character devolopement and great plots; or Serenity, with it's amazing storyline, spectacular fight sequences, and great effects?

Or didn't you like either? Did you enjoy them the same? And why did you enjoy one over the other?

I have not seen either.

I liked both, for different reasons. Serenity might just edge out Firefly, though.

Firefly, but only by a bit.

I haven't seen either, but based on Cov jr's recommendations, I will be watching the series.

Firefly, beyond all question.

This is a choice between a good and a good...no fair Revan. :|

I think I would give the edge to Firefly, though I did like both a lot. I liked the Old West flavor that came through more clearly in the tv series. Also, the characters were more developed in the series, though that would make sense as you get many more hours of them. :) Also, there are some truly funny moments in the series, as well as very touching ones. That humor did not come through for me in the film.

However, River kicked some serious ass in Serenity. And I liked how so many mysteries from the series were solved :) My hub and I both enjoyed the movie enough that we would definately be eager to see another, should one be made. :)

So, as I said, both the series and the film are quite good, and I like both a lot. 8)

I'm at a bit of a loss as to where sequels might go, plot-wise.

**BIG SERENITY SPOILERS**
Spoiler
The River thing has been explained now. Though I don't think we've heard the last of it, I can't see it being the focus of a second film. The other big plot direction I was anticipating seeing was Shepherd Book's past - but now that's out too. Unless it's done post mortem, and I think that would be a bit rude.

Who else is there? We know substantial quantities (or at least key points) about the backgrounds of Mal, Zoe, Jayne, Simon, River, Kaylee...that leaves Book (RIP), Wash (RIP) and Inara. Hmmm...

In the TV commentary Joss said that he'd planned to do a lot more with Blue Sun and the Blue Gloved Guys.

Yes, I was confused and disappointed by the absence of the "two by two, hands of blue" blokes in Serenity.

Those blue glove guys were seriously creepy in Firefly. 8O

What the film showed us about River didn't actually explain that much. It introduced a new thing - the government secrets - then brought that to a conclusion. We still don't know what the institute/Blue Sun/Alliance wanted to use River and the others for.

Right. Yeah, I think there's a lot more narrative room in the story.

I still can't see a second film focusing on River. Not yet, anyway. I think the next one will need to move on or risk feeling like a retread of the first.

I watched Safe last night, and I still think that a second movie would've done well going into Book's past. Oh well.

Bring on Blue Sun!

Book's past is something I really wish that Firefly had gone into at some point. As a character he is fascinating to me. :)

Yep, and when he and Mal were talking about it on the hillside in Serenity, I was like, "finally!". Alas.....

Me too. Joss definitely made a point of dropping hints throughout Firefly.

I bought season one of Firefly on Cov Jr's recommendations.
